Technical Accounting Specialist

As a Technical Accounting Specialist, you will play a dual role bridging core entity financial reporting with technical accounting research and compliance. You will be equally responsible for hands-on entity accounting, reporting, and audit coordination, alongside researching standard updates, evaluating treatment of transactions, and drafting technical accounting position papers under Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS / IFRS).
Responsibilities
- Drive technical accounting excellence across the Group through MFRS/IFRS advisory, accounting policy governance, and complex transaction assessments.
- Prepare monthly financial book closing of the subsidiaries assigned.
- Ensuring financial report/statements are prepared in a timely and accurate manner, in compliance with MFRS.
- Responsible for overall financial management and reporting of subsidiaries assigned, including compliance with policies and procedures, financial reporting, operation, regulatory etc.
- Prepare, submit and file the statutory financial statements.
- Liaison person with Group Tax for tax matters, including corporate tax, direct tax, transfer-pricing, etc.
Liaise with external auditors.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy/professional qualification recognized by MIA or professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA Australia, MICPA, ICAEW, or equivalent).
- At least 4 years working experience, with minimum 3 years working experience with Big 4 audit firms.
- Working experience within the financial reporting function in a public listed company will be added advantage.
- Proficient in accounting standard.
