Technical Analyst – LNG / ETRM
Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain LNG commercial application workflows supporting trading, risk, scheduling, and logistics processes.
- Support end-to-end LNG trading lifecycle processes, including deal capture, contract management, nominations, cargo scheduling, invoicing, and settlements.
- Translate business and operational requirements into system configurations and workflow enhancements.
- Execute system changes, enhancements, and configuration updates across ETRM and LNG trading platforms.
- Partner with traders, schedulers, risk, and operations teams to enhance system functionality and user workflows.
- Collaborate with global Commercial and Marine IT teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, compliance standards, and business objectives.
- Support integrations between LNG trading systems, ETRM platforms, and upstream/downstream applications.
- Coordinate and support system testing activities, including system testing, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Monitor system performance and support production environments to ensure reliability and timely issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across LNG trading, logistics, and risk systems.
- Collaborate with the LNG business to support data strategy, including data management and reporting, while fostering a data-driven decision-making culture.
- Maintain documentation for system workflows, configurations, and operational processes.
- Drive continuous improvement across LNG systems through process optimisation and automation initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, audit readiness, and compliance with applicable market regulations and regulatory reporting requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related business or technical discipline, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical analysis, production support, or system configuration within LNG or commodities trading environments.
- Advanced understanding of the LNG value chain and trading workflows, including deal capture, scheduling, nominations, logistics, invoicing, and settlements.
- Advanced proficiency in LNG pricing and risk, with experience supporting valuation processes, market data integration, Mark-to-Market (MTM) calculations, and risk analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in ETRM systems such as OpenLink Endur, Planlogic EOS, RightAngle, or similar platforms supporting physical and financial LNG.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system configuration, workflow support, and delivery of functional enhancements.
- Advanced proficiency in system testing processes, including UAT coordination and validation.
- Intermediate proficiency in system integrations, APIs, and data flows across trading and logistics systems, as well as regulatory reporting such as REMIT.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting production systems within fast-paced trading environments.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working closely with trading, risk, scheduling, and operations teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work across business and technical stakeholders in different time zones.
Experience in the following will be advantageous:
- Supporting global LNG trading businesses, including physical and structured LNG contracts. Experience with global Natural Gas or bulk commodities is advantageous.
- Operational and organisational change management.
- Shipping, voyage management, and marine logistics, such as IMOS, within LNG operations, as well as optimisation tools.
- SQL, Python, VB scripting, or data analysis tools for troubleshooting and validation.
- Integration frameworks, messaging systems, or event-driven architectures.
- Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
- Global LNG markets and regulatory requirements.
