Technical Analyst
Salary: $90,000 per year
About the role
This is a hands-on technical delivery role. You'll sit between our Solution Architect and our developers and testers, turning solution designs into working, tested delivery — and dealing directly with customers along the way. Where the work is within your technical range (configuration, scripting, integration, small code fixes) you build and test it yourself. Where it isn't, you hand a developer a brief so clear and accurate they can build from it without re-scoping.
Everything you deliver has to do two things at once: solve the customer's actual business problem, and keep Infinity's product integrity intact. You'll also back up our Support team on customer-raised issues.
Key responsibilities
Turn solution designs into working delivery — configuration, scripting, integrations, and small-scope code fixes
Build and maintain integrations with third parties (payment providers, financial institutions, loyalty schemes) and across the Infinity ecosystem
Troubleshoot functional and integration problems using log files, databases, and tools such as SQL Profiler
Write T-SQL scripts, reports, and stored procedures to our development standards
Complete software installations, upgrades, and environment changes; estimate effort to deliver
Own the majority of testing on the work you deliver, calibrated to the customer's real business context — not over-tested, not under-tested
Write the technical detail and specification for work that goes beyond your own build scope, precisely enough for a Developer to build from
Check that what you're building actually serves the customer's business objective, not just the ticket as written
Assist Support with customer-raised issues, and give them the as-built documentation and training they need
Keep stakeholders informed of progress, priorities, and risk without being chased
About you
Very strong database skills, particularly MS SQL — complex queries, stored procedures, and diagnosing performance issues
Solid understanding of database structures, relationships, and data integrity
Experience designing and using REST APIs, including writing API definitions (e.g. SwaggerHub)
Comfortable reading, debugging, and safely modifying code you didn't write
Deep understanding of SDLC principles and where your own work sits in that flow
Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences
Able to work at pace across multiple parallel work streams — switching context without losing accuracy or dropping detail
Genuine aptitude for AI tools in a technical domain — used for real value, not novelty
Must have the right to work in New Zealand that isn't tied to a specific employer — we can't support company-specific visa sponsorship for this role
