Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Technical Architect with strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture, serverless application development, full-stack technologies, and enterprise solution design.

The ideal candidate should have proven experience in architecting, developing, and delivering scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective enterprise applications using cloud-native, microservices, serverless, and event-driven architectures.

This role requires a combination of strong architectural expertise, hands-on technical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and technical leadership. The candidate will be responsible for driving architecture decisions, guiding development teams, collaborating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring end-to-end technical delivery across projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Architecture & System Design

• Design scalable, secure, reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective enterprise applications.
• Define and implement solution architectures using microservices, serverless, cloud-native, and event-driven design patterns.
• Design RESTful APIs, distributed systems, integration architectures, and third-party integrations.
• Evaluate technology choices, architectural approaches, technical feasibility, and associated trade-offs.
• Prepare architecture diagrams, technical design documents, solution specifications, and implementation guidelines.
• Identify architectural risks, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Lead application modernization, legacy system transformation, and cloud migration initiatives.
• Ensure architectural solutions align with business objectives, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements.

2. AWS Cloud & Serverless Architecture

• Design, develop, and implement cloud-native and serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot AWS Lambda functions using Node.js and Python.
• Design synchronous and asynchronous processing workflows, event-driven integrations, and distributed application architectures.
• Implement workflow orchestration, message queues, background processing, and event-based communication between services.
• Design highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and secure cloud solutions.
• Implement robust error handling, retry mechanisms, dead-letter queues, idempotency, and failure recovery strategies.
• Optimize AWS Lambda performance, concurrency, cold starts, execution time, and operational costs.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated deployments using AWS SAM and CloudFormation.
• Configure IAM roles, policies, authentication, authorization, and secure service-to-service communication.
• Implement monitoring and observability using Amazon CloudWatch, structured logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues involving AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and other cloud services.
• Work with additional AWS infrastructure services, including EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, VPC, Elastic Load Balancing, EFS, Cognito, Secrets Manager, and CloudTrail, as required.
• Evaluate cloud infrastructure for performance, security, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.

3. Full-Stack Development & Technical Expertise

• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for applications developed using:
• Backend: Node.js, Python, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Frontend: React.js, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and DynamoDB.
• Design and review RESTful APIs, reusable services, integration components, and application frameworks.
• Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, development guidelines, and software engineering best practices.
• Conduct technical design reviews, code reviews, and implementation assessments.
• Support developers in resolving complex technical challenges and integration issues.
• Participate in critical development activities, debugging, performance tuning, and application optimization.
• Ensure applications meet quality, security, scalability, and maintainability standards.

4. Database Design & Architecture

• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL database architectures using PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and DynamoDB.
• Define data models, database schemas, indexing strategies, and query optimization approaches.
• Design reliable data synchronization, migration, and integration workflows.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, security, availability, and performance.
• Evaluate database technologies and recommend appropriate solutions based on application requirements.
• Support database modernization, performance optimization, and integration with cloud-native applications.

5. Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Provide technical direction, architectural guidance, and mentorship to development teams.
• Lead architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code review processes.
• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in technical estimations, project planning, implementation strategies, and delivery activities.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and blockers, and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Ensure adherence to architectural standards, coding practices, and quality guidelines.
• Take ownership of critical technical decisions, complex implementation challenges, and production issues.
• Drive technical delivery while ensuring alignment with business requirements, project timelines, and quality expectations.

6. Client Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate directly with clients and stakeholders to understand business objectives, functional requirements, and technical expectations.
• Translate business requirements into practical, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.
• Present solution architectures, technical proposals, and design recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Explain architectural decisions, implementation approaches, technical risks, and trade-offs.
• Participate in requirement analysis, solution discussions, technical evaluations, and project planning.
• Provide recommendations that balance business priorities, technical feasibility, delivery timelines, and cost considerations.
• Act as a technical point of contact for architecture-related discussions and critical technical decisions.

7. DevOps, Security & Production Readiness

• Support CI/CD pipeline design, automated deployments, and release management processes.
• Work with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application environments.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using AWS Cognito, IAM, OAuth 2.0, and JWT.
• Apply cloud security best practices, including least-privilege access, secrets management, and secure API communication.
• Design and implement application monitoring, centralized logging, alerting, and observability mechanisms.
• Ensure applications meet production-readiness requirements related to reliability, availability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Support disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and operational resilience strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in a technical architecture or technical leadership role.
• Strong hands-on experience in AWS cloud services, particularly AWS Lambda and serverless application development.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-grade cloud applications.
• Strong technical proficiency in backend development, API architecture, and modern application frameworks.
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, distributed systems, and database technologies.
• Experience leading technical discussions, guiding development teams, and collaborating with clients.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage architectural responsibilities and technical delivery across multiple projects.
