Technical Business Analyst - Insurance

Salary: HKD 540000 - 720000 per annum

About the OpportunityOur client is a well-established organisation operating within the broader financial services sector. Due to continued technology transformation, they are seeking a hands-on technology leader to support enterprise applications, improve operational resilience, and partner with both internal teams and external service providers.
This is a broad technology role combining solution design, application support, stakeholder management, and delivery oversight. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring technology services remain stable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
Job Responsibilities

• Translate evolving business requirements into practical, sustainable technology solutions that support long-term digital and operational objectives.
• Take end-to-end ownership of complex application-related incidents, coordinating technical teams and vendors through diagnosis, escalation, remediation, and post-incident review.
• Provide technical direction across application enhancement initiatives, system upgrades, and ongoing operational support activities.
• Act as a subject-matter advisor on application architecture, system interoperability, infrastructure dependencies, and platform governance.
• Work closely with infrastructure, security, networking, and quality-assurance teams to ensure solutions meet internal control, change-management, and service-quality standards.
• Guide and mentor team members on operational priorities, technical best practices, and effective issue resolution.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, enhance system performance, and optimise technology-related costs.
• Develop and maintain forward-looking technology plans in partnership with internal stakeholders and managed-service providers.
• Balance competing demands from business units, prioritise work according to commercial impact and risk, and resolve cross-functional conflicts constructively.
• Design and deliver solutions across cloud-based and mobile-enabled environments, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and user experience.
• Support senior management with clear reporting on system health, project progress, risks, and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Strong background in application support, technical solution delivery, and end-to-end incident management.
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL platforms.
• Practical exposure to cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure; relevant cloud certifications are advantageous but not essential.
• Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure, networking, hardware, software lifecycle management, and IT service-management practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors, service providers, and external delivery partners.
• Proven leadership capability, with experience coaching technical teams and driving accountability across multiple workstreams.
• Able to design, document, and implement technical solutions with minimal supervision.
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to both business and IT audiences.
• Proactive, resilient, and comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment with shifting priorities.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese; Mandarin is required.
