GateSource HR is partnering with a confidential client looking for a Technical Communications Coordinator to support technical and laboratory teams by translating engineering work into clear, professional, and engaging communications.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a Mining Engineering undergraduate or recent graduate who enjoys technical writing, storytelling, and content creation. The role bridges engineering and communication, with exposure to real projects, labs, and operating environments.
Key Responsibilities
Collect technical updates from engineering and lab teams and convert them into:
Internal newsletters
Short technical updates
Project summaries and “wins”
Create reusable templates for consistent internal and external communications
Capture technical content in lab and field environments (photos, short videos, interviews)
Conduct short “what we did and why it matters” interviews with engineers
Maintain an organized library of visuals, slides, and written content
Ensure all content meets professional, safety, and confidentiality standards
Requirements
Required Skills & Background
Undergraduate or recent graduate in Mining Engineering or related discipline
Strong, polished English writing skills
Comfortable capturing photos and short videos using a phone or camera
Basic editing skills (simple video trims, captions, formatting)
Strong organization and coordination skills
Curiosity and confidence engaging with technical professionals
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Canva, PowerPoint, or simple design tools
Familiarity with mining or mineral processing terminology
Comfort running short interview-style recordings
Understanding of what makes technical content credible and useful
