Technical Consultant (Remote)

Position Summary

The Technical Consultant provides technical expertise and strategic guidance to support the design, implementation, integration, and optimization of enterprise technology solutions within a complex, highly regulated environment. The role works closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, program managers, and external partners to translate organizational requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical advisor to stakeholders, project teams, and leadership on technology solutions, system capabilities, and implementation strategies.

• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements and translate them into functional and technical solutions.

• Evaluate existing applications, infrastructure, processes, and integrations to identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, and improved operational efficiency.

• Design and recommend scalable technology solutions that align with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and organizational standards.

• Collaborate with software developers, system architects, engineers, business analysts, project managers, cybersecurity teams, and vendors throughout the solution lifecycle.

• Support system integration efforts involving APIs, databases, applications, cloud services, and enterprise platforms.

• Assist with architecture and solution design activities, including technical specifications, system diagrams, interface definitions, and implementation plans.

• Analyze technical issues and coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of complex application, integration, and infrastructure problems.

• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, deployment planning, release management, and production implementation activities.

• Assess technical risks, dependencies, performance considerations, and security requirements and provide recommendations for mitigation.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, configuration documentation, and solution specifications.

• Provide technical demonstrations, presentations, training, and knowledge transfer to stakeholders and end users.

• Support project planning, technical estimates, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation.

• Ensure solutions comply with applicable security, privacy, accessibility, governance, and regulatory requirements.

• Work with vendors and external partners to evaluate products, resolve technical issues, and ensure solutions meet established requirements.

• Monitor emerging technologies and industry best practices and provide recommendations for improving enterprise technology capabilities.

• Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience in technical consulting, systems engineering, software development, application implementation, or enterprise IT.

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams in large, complex organizations.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

• Experience working with sensitive or regulated information and following established security and compliance requirements.
