Technical Copywriter
About the role
We’re looking for a technically curious copywriter to work within our dedicated studio team for an Australian green AI technology company.
You’ll be the link between the company’s hardware, software and engineering teams and the audiences that need to understand their work. You’ll gather complex information from technical specialists, identify the strongest story within it, and translate it into clear, interesting content for customers, the wider technology industry, and other stakeholders.
You’ll then work with designers, animators and other creatives to bring that content to life across infographics, white papers, campaigns, digital experiences and other formats.
This role requires someone who can write exceptionally well and think beyond the written word. You’ll need to understand how information can be structured visually and create detailed, design-led briefs that give creative teams what they need to produce great work.
What you’ll be doing
Working closely with hardware, software and engineering teams to gather technical information
Interviewing engineers, software developers and subject-matter experts
Identifying the most relevant ideas, insights and stories within complex material
Translating technical concepts into clear content for customers, government, industry and broader audiences
Writing content across websites, campaigns, presentations, social media and marketing materials
Developing white papers, case studies, reports and thought-leadership content
Structuring information for infographics, diagrams, animations and digital experiences
Creating detailed content and creative briefs for designers, animators and other studio specialists
Briefing creative teams and working with them throughout the development process
Helping determine the best format and creative approach for each story
Writing and refining website and UX copy
Supporting product launches, partner campaigns and major company announcements
Owning and applying the company’s tone of voice
Editing technical material to improve its clarity, consistency and accessibility
Building an ongoing pipeline of stories from across the business
Developing a deep understanding of the hardware and software behind green AI technology
About you
You’re a strong writer, a curious researcher and a confident collaborator. You enjoy getting into the detail of a technical subject, asking intelligent questions and working out how to make complex information meaningful to different audiences.
You also think visually. You can recognise when an idea would work best as an infographic, animation, white paper, campaign or digital experience, then create a clear brief that allows the studio team to bring it to life.
You’ll bring:
Previous copywriting or content experience within a technology company
Demonstrated experience writing brand and marketing content
Proven experience developing content and creative briefs for design teams
Experience briefing designers, animators or other creative specialists
Examples of translating complex technical information into clear, engaging content
Experience developing white papers, infographics, case studies or similar materials
The ability to write effectively for customers, industry, government and general audiences
Experience across digital campaigns, websites, social media and longer-form content
An understanding of UX writing and how people engage with digital information
Strong interviewing, research, writing and editing skills
Experience working within an established brand voice or helping develop one
Confidence collaborating with engineers, software teams, executives and marketers
A genuine interest in AI, hardware, software and more sustainable technology
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple pieces of content at once
Why join?
You’ll join a collaborative studio team working directly with the people developing the technology. It’s an opportunity to go deep into one of the world’s most rapidly evolving industries and help shape how an ambitious Australian green AI technology company communicates its ideas, products and impact.
How to apply
Please submit your CV and a portfolio or examples of relevant work. We’d particularly like to see technology content, white papers, infographics, campaign materials and examples of content or creative briefs you have developed.
