Technical Delivery Lead (Digital Twins & AI)

Technical Delivery Lead (Digital Twins & AI)

Client-Facing / Project DeliveryLocation: UK (Flexible /Hybrid)Team: Digital Products & Services (Binnies Digital)

Who this role is for

This role is for someone who can bring structure, pace and precision to complex digital delivery.

Working alongside the Director and Technical Directors of Digital Products & Services, you'll help coordinate and deliver projects across our full portfolio of digital & AI projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, to a high technical standard and with exceptional attention to detail.

Some weeks, you’ll coordinate delivery across Binnies, our AI technology partners — including Williams Grand Prix Technologies and JuliaHub — and our clients, mainly water companies. Other weeks, you’ll roll your sleeves up and contribute directly to Digital Twin delivery.

If you naturally organise complexity, spot the things others miss and genuinely care about producing high-quality work, you'll probably enjoy this role.

The one thing that matters most

If we could choose only one quality for this role, it would be exceptional attention to detail.

Our projects combine engineering, AI, operational technology and multiple organisations working together. Small details quickly become big problems if they're missed.

We're looking for someone who naturally checks their work, asks the extra question, follows actions through to completion and takes pride in getting the details right.

We'll teach you our technologies, our industry and our delivery approach.

We can't teach someone to genuinely care about quality.

Why this role exists

Our team exists to help water companies better understand, predict and optimise the performance of critical infrastructure through Digital Twins, AI and specialist decision-support technologies.

We're deliberately specialist.

We aren't a general digital transformation team, an enterprise IT consultancy or a software development house. We're focused exclusively on operational performance and asset health intelligence within the water sector.

As demand grows across both our Digital Products and Digital Services portfolio, we need someone who can help bring consistency, structure and technical delivery discipline across an increasing number of complex programmes.

What this role is about

This role combines two equally important responsibilities.

1. Leading technical delivery across our portfolio

You'll support the delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion, maintaining oversight of plans, milestones, risks and technical activities across multiple programmes.

Many of our projects involve three organisations working together simultaneously — Binnies, our specialist technology partners and our clients. You'll help coordinate all three, ensuring delivery remains aligned, decisions are made at the right time and everyone understands where the programme stands.

This is far more than project administration; you'll understand enough of the technical solution to identify risks early, challenge assumptions and keep delivery moving.

2. Helping deliver Digital Twin projects

Alongside programme delivery, you'll contribute directly to technical delivery across our Digital Services portfolio.

That could include facilitating workshops, defining requirements, coordinating data activities, producing technical documentation, supporting architecture development or working alongside engineers, operators and software partners to help deliver Digital Twin solutions.

You'll manage delivery and help deliver it.

A typical week might involve

Coordinating AI delivery with Williams Grand Prix Technologies and JuliaHub as we introduce Scientific Machine Learning into the UK water industry to predict asset failure and reduce process emissions.

Helping take a new reservoir Digital Twin through MVP.

Supporting delivery of a Digital Twin for one of Southeast Asia's most advanced wastewater treatment works.

Helping prepare a newly upgraded UK treatment works to become Digital Twin-ready.

Supporting our Synthetic Audiences work, helping water companies use AI to better understand customer behaviour before making major engineering and investment decisions.

Reviewing plans, coordinating actions and ensuring nothing falls between organisational boundaries.

We'd like to hear from you if you have experience in one or more of the following:

Technical programme or project delivery

Digital Twins / AI

Asset management

Operations or maintenance

Operational Technology

Data, AI or analytics

Systems integration

Engineering consultancy

Water infrastructure

Water industry experience is desirable, but not essential.

We're far more interested in someone with the right mindset, curiosity and willingness to learn than someone who already knows every aspect of our industry and technical offering.

The qualities we're looking for

Exceptional attention to detail

Strong organisation and ownership

A positive, proactive attitude

Curiosity and a desire to learn

Excellent communication skills

Collaborative by nature

Comfortable working with ambiguity

A genuine pride in producing high-quality work

Technical skills can be developed. Character, mindset and attention to detail matter most.

Why you'll enjoy this role

You’ll work on industry-first projects at the intersection of Digital Twins, AI and engineering, alongside partners including Williams Grand Prix Technologies and JuliaHub.

You’ll join a small, ambitious team that is growing quickly, with the opportunity to help shape how Digital Twins and AI are delivered across the UK water sector.

There will be ambiguity, complexity and plenty to learn — but you’ll be surrounded by people who care about doing things properly, challenge each other respectfully and continually strive to improve.

If you’re excited by that challenge and think you can raise the bar, we’d love to hear from you.
