Role Overview

The Hands-On Technical Delivery Lead & Solutions Architect takes complete ownership of technical briefs from initial architectural design through to production release. Operating directly in the codebase alongside Senior Developers and QA Engineers, this role combines deep architectural oversight with governed AI-assisted development practices and an uncompromising focus on quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Brief-to-Production Execution: Translate project briefs into robust system architectures and production-ready code, ensuring final deliverables match every functional and non-functional specification.
• Hands-On Engineering Leadership: Remain actively immersed in daily coding, architecture prototyping, debugging, and pull-request reviews alongside the core engineering team.
• Controlled AI-Assisted Development: Drive engineering velocity using AI-assisted coding tools within strict governance frameworks, enforcing human-in-the-loop verification, security guardrails, and architectural consistency.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner directly with Senior Developers and QA Engineers to align development tasks, resolve technical bottlenecks, and maintain unified delivery standards.
• Quality Assurance & Precision: Embed a quality-first mindset across the lifecycle through automated test coverage, rigorous peer reviews, and meticulous verification against the original project brief.

Required Experience & Skills

• Architectural & Technical Mastery: Proven track record operating simultaneously as a Solutions Architect and hands-on Technical Lead delivering complex software projects on time and to specification.
• Governed AI Engineering: Practical experience deploying AI-assisted development workflows (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or custom LLM pipelines) with established quality controls, code-audit processes, and risk mitigation.
• QA Mindset & Detail Orientation: Exceptional attention to detail with deep experience bridging development and QA processes, including TDD/BDD, integration testing, and defect prevention.
• Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to mentor and coordinate Senior Developers and QA specialists in high-accountability delivery environments.
• Mobility: Willingness and eligibility to relocate to the United Kingdom for on-site or hybrid project delivery.
