Technical Design Manager In Architecture Works
Summary
Leads an architecture/construction design team to produce shop drawings, fabrication lists, and as-built documentation while coordinating with architects, contractors, and suppliers.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
* Lead and manage the design team to deliver projects on schedule.
* Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, supplier & project teams.
* Prepare, review, and approve detailed shop drawings.
* Produce and coordinate fabrication/cutting lists for factory production.
* Prepare and update as-built drawings upon project completion.
* Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and company standards.
* Coordinate design changes and resolve technical issues during construction.
* Conduct site measurements and verify dimensions where required.
* Liaise with the production team to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
* Support the procurement and project teams with technical information and material specifications.
* Manage drawing & materials submissions, revisions, and approval processes.
* Mentor and develop junior designers and BIM/CAD personnel.
Requirements
* Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in architectural works, façade, aluminium, steel, glass, ceiling, cladding, or interior fit-out.
* Strong knowledge of construction detailing and fabrication drawings.
* Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory).
* Experience with Revit/BIM will be an advantage.
* Strong understanding of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, cutting lists, and as-built documentation.
* Able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
* Good communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work independently under tight project schedules.
* Experience in Singapore MRT projects will be highly preferred
