Technical Development & Sales Agronomy Team Manager (IL or KS)

Key Responsibilities:

National Agronomy Planning and Execution

  • Develop and execute the annual National Agronomy Business Plan under the direction of the National Agronomy Strategist & Northern Plains RSM.
  • Consolidate regional agronomic priorities, research needs, customer insights, and commercial opportunities into a coordinated national execution plan.
  • Translate the company agronomic strategy into specific objectives, deliverables, timelines, and accountability measures.
  • Recommend agronomic performance objectives, budget needs, resource requirements, and execution priorities.
  • Identify emerging agronomic trends and market opportunities that may support future growth, product development, or customer success.
  • Provide regular updates on execution progress, risks, opportunities, and recommended adjustments.

Regional Agronomy Team Leadership

  • Provide direct leadership, direction, coaching, and performance management for the Regional Sales Agronomist team.
  • Establish clear team priorities, goals, expectations, and accountability measures aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Support Regional Sales Agronomists through regular mentoring, performance feedback, career development planning, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistency of agronomic messaging and support across regions.
  • Lead team meetings, planning sessions, field alignment discussions, and professional development initiatives.
  • Ensure the agronomy team remains aligned with evolving research, product, market, and commercial priorities.
  • Champion a culture of technical excellence, service, innovation, accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

Agronomic Support for Business Regions

  • Lead the Regional Sales Agronomist team in developing and executing agronomy plans that support the six business regions.
  • Translate SAM and RSM market opportunities into agronomic support plans, training priorities, field development needs, and customer-facing activities.
  • Ensure timely, consistent, and technically sound agronomic support for Sales Account Managers, Regional Sales Managers, retail partners, and customers.
  • Monitor regional agronomy needs and recommend adjustments to improve effectiveness, resource allocation, and business impact.
  • Support regional meetings, customer events, field days, demonstrations, and market development initiatives as needed.

Agronomic Philosophy Deployment and Training

  • Translate AgroLiquid agronomic philosophy into practical tools, training, field guidance, and sales enablement resources.
  • Ensure Regional Sales Agronomists, Sales Account Managers, retail partners, and interns understand and consistently apply AgroLiquid agronomic principles.
  • Identify gaps in field understanding, technical messaging, or customer-facing application and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain consistency of agronomic messaging across regions, teams, customer interactions, and training platforms.
  • Support the development of scalable learning pathways focused on agronomy, product knowledge, sales effectiveness, and customer value.

Research Prioritization and Field Development

  • Lead the intake, organization, and prioritization process for regional research requests and Product Field Evaluation needs.
  • Coordinate with Regional Sales Agronomists, Innovation, NCRS, AIM, Product Management, and Marketing to execute approved research and field validation priorities.
  • Support deployment and execution of field protocols across regions.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and timeliness of agronomic research activities, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Translate research outcomes and field observations into practical recommendations, sales tools, training content, and market development support.
  • Provide field-based insight to help guide future research priorities, product development, and technical validation needs.

Centers of Influence Relationship Management

  • Develop and manage relationships with universities, consultants, researchers, retailers, and key industry influencers.
  • Coordinate product placement, trial execution, demonstrations, field days, educational programs, and collaborative research initiatives.
  • Work with Marketing Communications to convert COI activity into usable education, technical content, and market development support.
  • Ensure COI activities support AgroLiquid technical positioning, customer value proposition, and commercial objectives.
  • Measure and report COI impact, including relationship quality, field activity, technical credibility, and commercial influence.

Technical Development and Claims Validation

  • Partner with Marketing, Innovation, NCRS, AIM, Product Management, and Sales to support validation of agronomic claims and product positioning.
  • Review technical content for scientific accuracy, agronomic relevance, and field usability.
  • Translate research findings and field results into compelling customer-facing value propositions.
  • Support development of technical resources, presentations, videos, webinars, training materials, and educational content.
  • Ensure technical materials are consistent, accurate, practical, and aligned with AgroLiquid agronomic philosophy.

Sales Enablement and Training Leadership

  • Lead development and delivery of agronomic training programs for Regional Sales Agronomists, Sales Account Managers, retail partners, interns, and other key audiences.
  • Build scalable learning pathways that strengthen agronomic understanding, product knowledge, technical confidence, and sales effectiveness.
  • Oversee the sales internship program and support diversified internship initiatives.
  • Serve as a national technical resource and presenter for internal meetings, external events, customer programs, and partner education.
  • Measure training effectiveness and recommend improvements based on participation, competency development, field adoption, and business needs.

Commercial Insights and Innovation Feedback

  • Lead win-rate analysis efforts to identify drivers of commercial success and barriers to adoption.
  • Develop feedback loops that communicate market insights, customer needs, competitive observations, and field opportunities to Innovation and Product Management.
  • Provide recommendations for product development, portfolio optimization, commercialization strategy, and launch readiness.
  • Support field adoption of new products by coordinating technical messaging, training, validation summaries, and regional support.
  • Ensure research findings and field results are communicated in a consistent, timely, and actionable format throughout the organization.

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Serve as an operational liaison among Sales, Marketing, Innovation, AIM, NCRS, Product Management, and Research.
  • Facilitate alignment on research priorities, technical messaging, product launches, market development initiatives, and training needs.
  • Ensure execution plans are clear, practical, measurable, and aligned with company agronomy direction.
  • Escalate strategic decisions, resource needs, or priority conflicts to the National Agronomy Strategist & Northern Plains RSM

Follow all safety policies, procedures and protocols at all times.

Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Assist with special projects as directed.

Additional misc duties as deemed necessary by management.

What we’re looking for:

  • 4 year degree in agriculture or equivalent experience
  • Possess and maintain CCA/PCA certification
  • Successful time management driven by self-motivation
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & presentation)
  • Great attitude and customer service skills
  • Financial budget planning & management experience
  • Proficient computer skills (ex: ERP, Microsoft Office programs)
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to stand; sit; lift; squat; stoop and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Available for travel as much as approximately 70% of the time seasonally when needed
