Technical Director - Liveable Places / Parking

About your role...

We are looking to recruit a Technical Director into WSP's Liveable Places team in London. The role is based from our Westferry Circus office (Canary Wharf), with flexible working allowing for a mix of home and in-office working.

WSP's Liveable Places team works with a wide range of local authority and private sector clients across the UK to help them achieve their place-making ambitions. As a Technical Director within the team, you will play a leading role in the growth and delivery of our Parking and Kerbside Management offer, working alongside our established public realm, active travel, traffic engineering and transport planning teams.

You will lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, including parking strategy, kerbside management, Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs), parking design and implementation, traffic management, public realm and active travel schemes, taking projects from concept through to delivery. You will also support the leadership team in growing and developing our Liveable Places offering across London and the wider UK.

This is a varied role with responsibilities including:

• Leading and growing WSP's Parking and Kerbside Management offering across London and the wider UK, securing work from both new and existing clients.
• Developing trusted relationships with local authorities and private sector clients, identifying opportunities to support their parking, transport and place-making objectives.
• Bringing fresh thinking, innovation and market insight into our Liveable Places team, particularly in relation to parking policy, kerbside management and emerging mobility trends.
• Acting as a Project Director for a range of Parking, Transport, Traffic Engineering and Public Realm projects.
• Working collaboratively with the Liveable Places team, and colleagues across the wider WSP business, to deliver integrated and innovative solutions for our clients.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• A civil engineering, transport planning, parking, highways or related professional background.
• Significant experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects across the project lifecycle, with a strong background in parking strategy, parking design, kerbside management and transport schemes.
• Proven ability to act as Project Director and Project Manager on complex projects.
• Proven experience managing significant client accounts, particularly with local authorities and public sector clients.
• A track record of winning work and developing long-term client relationships.
• An understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local authorities in relation to parking, revenue generation, kerbside allocation, active travel and town centre regeneration.
