The Opportunity

A leading manufacturer serving the performance and entertainment industry is seeking a hands-on Technical Manager to lead product development, technical documentation, field support, and special projects.

This is a highly visible role for someone who can move comfortably between product design, site conditions, installation details, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. You will help ensure products are practical, compliant, well documented, and successfully implemented in the field.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead U.S. product-development efforts, including product construction, cost/price considerations, installation guidance, and maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinate product testing for safety, quality, performance, and applicable technical standards.
  • Research and specify materials with an eye toward durability, sustainability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturers on components and product solutions.
  • Develop and maintain installation manuals, maintenance guides, technical specifications, cut sheets, standard details, and submittal materials.
  • Travel to job sites to support quoting, assess installation readiness, troubleshoot field issues, and recommend next steps.
  • Review complex specifications and drawings; provide technical solutions for existing and new products.
  • Support key-project quoting, cost optimization, CAD drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Establish and maintain quality-control procedures, testing protocols, compliance records, and performance documentation.
  • Coordinate special product projects, including timelines, budgets, suppliers, engineering partners, and field teams.
  • Deliver internal training and continuing-education presentations for clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Support sales and marketing with accurate technical input for product data sheets, trade-show materials, and case studies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows tied to quoting, installation, documentation, and product implementation.

What You Bring

  • Technical product, systems, installation, engineering, architectural, manufacturing, or related industry experience.
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, site conditions, and technical requirements.
  • Experience creating clear technical documentation, installation details, manuals, or submittal packages.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and confidence working directly with field teams, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organization and project coordination skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the United States.
