Technical Engineering Manager - Building Construction

Job Description

Position Summary

  • Responsible for overseeing the technical execution and coordination of assigned projects.
  • Ensuring that all technical deliverables comply with contractual requirements, applicable standards, and project and client expectations.
  • Managing multidisciplinary technical teams, reviewing designs and technical submissions, resolving technical issues, and acting as the primary technical liaison between the contractor, consultants, subcontractors, and the client.
  • Accountable for maintaining technical quality, constructability, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle, from shop-drawings stages through construction and handover, while supporting program, cost, and risk objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and deliver all technical aspects of the project in accordance with contract documents, scope of work, specifications, and approved designs.
  • Review, coordinate, and submit technical submissions including BIM, shop-drawings, structural calculations, method statements, and architecture and structure shop drawings including rebar detailing.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design and engineering inputs to ensure consistency, integration, and constructability.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve technical issues, clashes, and discrepancies in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Main technical point of contact between technical team and project team.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and authority approval requirements.
  • Support project planning by providing technical input related to sequencing, construction methods, and risk mitigation.
  • Review and respond to technical RFIs, design changes, and variations, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor technical progress and report risks, constraints, and required actions to project management.
  • Support value engineering initiatives and technical optimization to improve performance, quality, or cost efficiency.
  • Oversee technical quality assurance processes and ensure adherence to approved procedures.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and handover activities by ensuring technical documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Mentor and guide technical team members to maintain consistent technical standards.
  • Maintain accurate technical records, correspondence, and approvals in line with project governance requirements.
  • Other works as assigned by Engineering Dept.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Job-Specific Skills / Abilities

  • Architectural, Structural Design & MEP co-ordination related skills.
  • Software skills: Auto-cad, BIM Revit, ACC, Microsoft Word, Excel.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience.
