Requirements:
Minimum 7 years of experience with an international humanitarian mine action agency, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management position such as TFM or similar.
IMAS EOD Level 3+ qualification or proven certification in relevant modules, including advanced explosive theory, bulk demolitions, aerial bombs, guided weapons, chemical ordnance and AFV clearance.
Proven practical experience in Render Safe Procedures for simple and advanced explosive ordnance items, including air-dropped weapons and improvised explosive devices.
Experience managing comprehensive land release, including technical survey and clearance using manual, mechanical and Mine Detection Dog assets.
Strong knowledge of IMAS, NMAS, land release principles, operational planning, reporting and compliance with organisational SOPs.
As a person, you possess good people leadership skills, are a clear communicator, and strong within collaboration and organisation. This role will require you to guide teams, maintain high operational standards and support the development of staff in leadership and specialised functions. Therefore, it is particularly important that you enjoy working independently in complex operational environments while building strong relationships and motivating others.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily planning, supervision and implementation of operational mine action activities in line with applicable SOPs and standards.
Manage and oversee EOD, Render Safe Procedures, spot tasks and technical activities on clearance sites.
Conduct, oversee and maintain the operational quality management system in cooperation with the Operations Manager.
Lead capacity development for operations team members and support staff training for leadership and specialised roles.
Provide technical input to SOPs, operational documents and progress reports, and support achievement of donor targets and organisational KPIs.
*Validity of the offer and contract depends on satisfactory medical certificate, full vaccination, valid travel visa and necessary permits for service and residency in the country of service.
The offer and contract also depend on donor funding, including approval of submitted and future proposals, and might be subject to donor approval.
