Technical Infrastructure Project Manager - Networking, Network Deployment - Fulfilment Center Technology
Summary
Technical Infrastructure Program Manager at Amazon who leads large-scale network hardware deployment and lifecycle programs (refresh, upgrades, capacity expansion) for global fulfillment, transportation, and grocery sites — handling planning, budget/CAR approvals, vendor procurement, and field deployment coordination.
We are seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to lead large-scale network hardware deployment and lifecycle programs. The successful candidate will own program planning and execution, drive financial and commercial approvals, coordinate hardware procurement and field deployments, and ensure programs are delivered on time and within budget. This role requires strong program management fundamentals, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and experience delivering complex infrastructure programs across cross-functional teams.
Key job responsibilities
• Program Ownership and Execution: Own end-to-end planning and delivery of network hardware lifecycle programs, including technology refresh, infrastructure upgrades, capacity expansion, and hardware replacement. Manage multiple programs in parallel, ensuring delivery against agreed schedules, budgets, and business requirements.
• Financial Planning and Approvals: Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to develop project cost estimates, prepare and secure Capital Authorization Request (CAR) approvals, track budget utilization, and manage financial risks and changes throughout the program lifecycle.
• Vendor and Commercial Management: Work with hardware vendors, suppliers, and internal procurement teams to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, evaluate commercial proposals, and drive cost-effective procurement while meeting program timelines and technical requirements.
• Project Planning and Deployment Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, milestones, resource requirements, and deployment schedules. Coordinate with field deployment teams, engineering teams, vendors, and site stakeholders to ensure hardware deployments are executed as planned and dependencies are addressed proactively.
• Risk and Dependency Management: Identify delivery risks, technical dependencies, resource constraints, and schedule deviations early. Establish mitigation plans, drive issue resolution, and escalate blockers to the appropriate stakeholders to protect committed timelines.
• Stakeholder Management and Communication: Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Field Deployment, Operations, and external vendors. Provide clear and regular program updates to stakeholders and senior leadership, highlighting progress, risks, financial status, and decisions required.
• Metrics and Operational Excellence: Establish scalable mechanisms to track program milestones, deployment progress, financial performance, vendor commitments, and delivery risks. Use metrics to improve visibility, identify bottlenecks, reduce deployment cycle times, and drive continuous improvement.
• Process Improvement and Standardization: Identify opportunities to simplify program execution, standardize deployment processes, improve planning accuracy, and reduce manual effort across hardware lifecycle programs. Develop repeatable mechanisms that support increased deployment volume and operational scale.
