This position is in the General Services Administration (GSA), Office of the Deputy Administrator, Project Management Office (PMO) for the Technology Modernization Fund (TMF). The employee serves as a consultant and technical project expert for providing advice on IT concepts and practices and is accountable for the overall success of the program, ensuring alignment with critical organizational priorities. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Oversees a variety of duties related to the funding and implementation of long-term IT projects including: identifying agency needs and requirements; analyzing system requirements and environments; conducting or leading lower graded employees in the completion of in-depth analytical studies, cost-benefit analyses. Serves as an authoritative technical consultant to agencies. Engages with agencies to develop and revise important, complex and intricate IT policies, practices, products, services, and strategies based on laws, regulations, business needs, and user needs. Partners with customers to ensure projects and programs meet business and user needs and provides consultative support to improve business process/practices, in coordination with technology modernization and transformation initiatives. Reviews and monitors program progress and adherence with the organization's vision, mission, and objectives, recommending actions and proposed changes to ensure the program is successful and remains in alignment with strategic initiatives; and proactively identifies potential issues which may impede successful implementation. Serves as a liaison to program personnel within an agency to convey information regarding modern software development best practices, policies and goals; to clarify procedures; and to interpret directives as needed.

Failure to disclose this information could result in disciplinary action including removal from Federal Service. Serve a one year probationary period, if required. Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 2 investigation level). Have your identity and work status eligibility verified if you are not a GSA employee.
