Technical Lead Architect - CTI MD Tech (GRA/GSC)
Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) · Global Scientific Communications (GSC) · CTI-MD Tech@Lilly
Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) and Global Scientific Communications (GSC) together own how Lilly's medicines move through health authority review, stay compliant once approved, and get communicated externally — spanning regulatory submissions, labelling, clinical trial disclosures, and scientific publications. Both functions operate under strict compliance and audit-readiness requirements.
The Technical Lead Architect (R5), GRA/GSC reimagines and transforms existing regulatory and scientific communications workflows into intelligent, agentic, AI-driven processes across the Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) and Global Scientific Communications (GSC) portfolio. This role is split 70% hands-on technical execution including coding and 30% strategy, and shapes the future technology landscape across regulatory, scientific communications, data, content, and digital capabilities — aligning business strategy with technology investment, AI innovation, and architecture to drive operational excellence, compliance, and scalable growth. This role ensures technology decisions across the portfolio align to a cohesive future-state architecture, maximizing reuse, reducing complexity, and creating measurable business value.
Path/Level: R5 (Technical Lead Architect)
Key Responsibilities
AI-Driven Process Transformation — lead the transformation of regulatory and scientific communications processes into AI-driven, agentic automated workflows — with human-in-the-loop checkpoints preserved at points requiring human judgment, oversight, and accountability.
AI & Agentic Strategy Ownership — define and own the AI, Generative AI, and Agentic AI strategy across the GRA/GSC portfolio, identifying where intelligent automation and digital capabilities can replace manual, siloed process steps.
Governance & Operating Model Design — establish governance, operating models, and architectural patterns that enable teams to build secure, cyber-hardened AI and agentic workflows, partnering with enterprise teams to accelerate adoption.
Technology Strategy & Roadmap Ownership — own the technology strategy and roadmap for the GRA/GSC portfolio, translating business priorities into a strategic technology vision and investment plan.
Business & Portfolio Partnership — partner with business and portfolio leadership to identify future capability needs and technology opportunities, driving portfolio-level planning, roadmap alignment, and prioritization.
Technology Evaluation & Portfolio Rationalization — evaluate emerging technologies and assess their impact on regulatory and scientific communications operations; lead portfolio rationalization to consolidate, simplify, and modernize.
Reusable Architecture Patterns — establish reusable architecture patterns and reference models that accelerate delivery and improve sustainability.
Architecture Quality & Modernization — ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and compliant with enterprise architecture standards; guide modernization and long-term technology health of the portfolio.
Talent Development & Mentorship — mentor and develop technical leaders, architects, and engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement.
