Overall Objectives of Job:

A demanding role for a full stack system administrator developer and DevSecOps engineer within Allianz Technology.

Core skills required include full-stack software engineering across application development, platform integration, DevSecOps and operational delivery. Candidates should possess strong experience across multiple programming and scripting languages including Python, Groovy, Shell and JavaScript, together with web application development using Django or equivalent frameworks. The role requires practical experience with web services and integration technologies including XML, JSON, YAML, HTTP, SOAP and REST.

The successful candidate will be expected to operate confidently across the end-to-end software delivery toolchain including Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Nexus, SonarQube and GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), applying DevSecOps principles and secure software delivery practices. Experience working with authentication and security technologies such as SSH, mTLS and OAuth is required.

The role operates within a predominantly IBM i environment and therefore requires familiarity with IBM i platforms, Apache web services, DB2 for i databases and associated development, deployment and operational practices. Experience using Visual Studio Code, Code for IBM i, GitHub Copilot and modern AI-assisted engineering workflows is highly desirable.

Candidates should also have experience working within Agile delivery environments and integrating technical delivery with JIRA and ServiceNow processes. Desirable skills include Kubernetes, Apigee API management, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations and modern API ecosystem technologies.

In addition, the successful candidate is expected to operate in a highly AI-enabled engineering environment, leveraging tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and related AI assistants as a matter of course to optimise productivity, software quality, operational effectiveness and delivery velocity.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of relevant industry experience, including hands on DevOps CI/CD Tools ; exposure to IBM i platforms is an advantage.

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience using Python, Groovy, Shell and JavaScript.
• Experience developing applications using Django or equivalent web frameworks.
• Experience developing and integrating web services and APIs using REST, SOAP, HTTP, XML, JSON and YAML.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, software design principles, testing and maintainable code practices.

• DevOps & Toolchain
• Strong experience with Jenkins, Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Nexus, SonarQube and GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS).
• Experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines including pipeline scripting and release automation.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure software delivery practices.

• Infrastructure & Security
• Good understanding of SSH, mTLS, OAuth and secure authentication/authorisation patterns.
• Experience supporting enterprise application environments and production platforms.
• Understanding of secure coding, vulnerability management and software supply chain security.

• IBM i Platform
• Experience working with IBM i environments.
• Knowledge of Apache web services and deployment patterns.
• Experience with DB2 for i data modelling, SQL development and application integration.
• Knowledge of IBM i operational and development tooling.

• Developer Productivity & AI
• Strong working knowledge of Visual Studio Code and Code for IBM i.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Practical use of Claude Code or equivalent AI coding assistants within software delivery workflows.
• Ability to effectively leverage AI technologies to improve development productivity, solution quality and operational outcomes.

• Delivery & Service Management
• Experience working with JIRA, Confluence and ServiceNow.
• Working knowledge of ITIL, Agile, SAFe and DevSecOps methodologies.

• Desirable Skills
• Kubernetes.
• Apigee (OPDK and Hybrid).
• Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• AI platform integration and automation tooling.

Dashboard and operational reporting development.

Key Competencies

• Good to have Having a basic understanding or exposure to AI tools would be a plus.
• Familiarity with basic AI tools is considered an advantage.
• Basic knowledge or experience with AI tools will be beneficial.
• Exposure to AI tools, even at a basic level, is a value-add.
• A fundamental grasp of AI tools will be an added benefit.
