Technical Manager - Infrastructure & Operations

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise UNIX/Linux platforms to ensure high levels of system availability and performance.

• Manage infrastructure projects from planning through implementation, ensuring delivery aligns with project objectives, governance standards, and operational requirements.

• Oversee platform monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and technology optimization initiatives.

• Direct incident response activities, troubleshooting efforts, and root-cause investigations for critical infrastructure issues.

• Develop and execute infrastructure refresh strategies, including operating system upgrades, hardware replacements, and technology lifecycle management.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure engineers and system administrators to support business and technology objectives.

• Support departmental planning activities including budgeting, resource allocation, workforce planning, and operational management.

• Act as a delegate for senior infrastructure leadership when required.

• Contribute to technology roadmaps, infrastructure transformation initiatives, and strategic platform enhancements.

• Partner with business units, project teams, and technology stakeholders to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions.

• Oversee security remediation activities, audit responses, vulnerability management, and compliance improvement initiatives.

• Ensure infrastructure operations comply with internal policies, technology standards, risk management requirements, and industry regulations.

• Manage technology vendors and service providers to ensure service quality and contractual compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure environments, including significant leadership experience overseeing technical teams.

• Proven background within banking, financial institutions, or highly regulated enterprise environments.

• Extensive hands-on expertise managing enterprise UNIX/Linux operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), AIX, and Solaris.

• Strong experience delivering infrastructure projects, platform migrations, upgrades, and technology transformation programs.

• Demonstrated experience in vendor management, contract governance, and external service coordination.

• Solid understanding of IT service management processes and operational support best practices.

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure security, vulnerability management, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.

• Experience supporting banking technology controls and risk management frameworks is highly desirable.

• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
