Technical Manager (Security Technology & Smart Facility Management)
Summary
The Technical Manager will lead the development and integration of security technology, IoT, and smart facility-management platforms. They will manage technology roadmaps, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and coordinate Agile development activities.
Responsibilities
- Define and manage technology roadmaps for security technology, IoT and smart facility-management platforms.
- Translate business and operational requirements into technical specifications, system requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Lead the development and integration of CCTV, video analytics, access control, intrusion detection, command-centre and monitoring platforms.
- Manage integration between enterprise applications, security systems, IoT devices and third-party platforms.
- Define and manage API requirements, interface specifications, data flows and integration workflows.
- Work with engineering and architecture teams on system design, scalability, performance, availability and technical feasibility.
- Lead the implementation of IoT-enabled monitoring, automation and smart facility-management solutions.
- Manage technical product backlogs, priorities, dependencies, technical debt and system enhancements.
- Coordinate Agile/Scrum/SAFe development activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and release planning.
- Coordinate system integration testing, UAT, deployment and post-production technical validation.
- Work with DevOps teams on deployment, release management, system monitoring and platform reliability.
- Develop and monitor technical KPIs, system performance metrics and operational dashboards.
- Use SQL, Power BI and data analytics to identify system issues, operational trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluate opportunities to apply AI, automation and data analytics to security monitoring and facility-management operations.
- Ensure appropriate cybersecurity, access control, data protection, system availability and resilience requirements are incorporated into technology solutions.
- Evaluate and manage technology vendors, system integrators and third-party technology platforms.
- Maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, API specifications, data models, integration specifications and system workflows.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and technology partners to ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines and technical requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in technical product management, technology management, software delivery, product ownership, systems integration or technology transformation.
- Strong experience in enterprise technology platforms and digital transformation.
- Experience working with software engineering, solution architecture, DevOps, QA and cybersecurity teams.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Scrum and SAFe methodologies.
- Experience managing technology roadmaps, technical backlogs, requirements and software releases.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, system integration, data flows, JSON, webhooks and event-driven integration.
- Experience with microservices, service-oriented architecture and/or event-driven architecture.
- Understanding of cloud computing, cloud-native applications, containerization and scalable technology platforms.
- Experience with IoT platforms, connected devices, sensors and device-to-platform integration.
- Knowledge of IoT technologies such as MQTT, REST APIs, webhooks and event-based messaging.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, data analytics and Power BI.
- Ability to interpret technical architecture diagrams, API documentation, data models, sequence diagrams and system integration specifications.
- Experience or knowledge of CCTV, video analytics, access control, intrusion detection, security monitoring or command-centre systems will be advantageous.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles including authentication, authorization, encryption, secure APIs, audit logging and data protection.
- Knowledge of system availability, scalability, performance, resilience and disaster-recovery principles.
- Proficiency in technology/product tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Aha! and Figma.
- SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager certification is preferred, with demonstrated experience in Agile product management, roadmap and backlog ownership, and cross-functional technology delivery.

- Experience working with distributed teams, technology vendors and external system integrators.
