Technical Operations Manager , AWSManufacturing and Repair
Posted Updated
Description
AWS Manufacturing & Repair Operations is focused on automated assembly solutions where innovative approaches are needed to accelerate overall manufacturing time for AI/ML platforms. We work backwards from customers to increase critical capacity for AWS services by improving yield and reliability while reducing cycle time. This highly cross-functional initiative brings together critical expertise from across Amazon teams dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer expectations through innovative validation processes and Amazon operational excellence.
Key job responsibilities
-Manage a shift of technicians (Sun-Wed, 8:00am - 6:30pm)
-Own and manage daily repair operations for AI compute and switch sleds.
-Drive repair throughput, yield, and cycle time performance against established targets; identify and remove bottlenecks
-Develop and implement standardized repair procedures, diagnostic workflows, and functional test protocols
-Ensure all repaired components meet quality and acceptance testing criteria prior to reintegration into production
-Manage repair queue prioritization and capacity planning to align with production schedules and customer demand signals
A day in the life
You will start your day reviewing operational dashboards and connecting with your team leads to assess priorities. From there, you might facilitate a cross-functional planning session, work through an escalation requiring quick judgment, or conduct a one-on-one coaching session with a direct report. You will regularly engage with partner teams such as Amazon Cloud Logistics, Re:Cycle Reverse Logistics, Warehousing and Transportation to align on project timelines and resource allocation, and you will carve out time to evaluate process improvements that keep your operations running smoothly.
