The Role

Are you ready to join the team of software engineering experts at Kyndryl? We are seeking a talented Software Engineering Technical Specialist to contribute to our IT compliance space and provide critical skills required to become the primary technical authority for Applications and Platforms as a Technical Owner.
As a Technical Owner, you will be the single point of accountability for the technical integrity, architecture, security, privacy, and governance compliance of an application, platform, or service across its full lifecycle.

This role ensures that the asset is accurately documented, risk assessed, approved, controlled, and auditable in alignment with enterprise governance standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Ownership & Governance

  • Act as the primary technical authority for the application/platform.
  • Ensure lifecycle governance from onboarding through operation to decommissioning.
  • Maintain audit readiness and ensure compliance with enterprise policies and regulatory standards.

2. Architecture & Design Compliance

  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
  • Lead or support architecture reviews and address findings prior to production deployment.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of system architecture, integrations, and dependencies.

3. Risk, Security & Compliance Management

  • Identify, assess, and manage technical and security risks.
  • Ensure adherence to security controls, regulatory requirements, and internal compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, audit controls).
  • Track and remediate risk findings, vulnerabilities, and audit observations.

4. Privacy & Data Protection

  • Ensure proper handling of personal and sensitive data in accordance with global privacy regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of data processing, storage, and flows.
  • Coordinate remediation of privacy risks and ensure updates when system scope or usage changes.

5. System of Record & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate system records, including ownership, lifecycle status, integrations, vendors, and data classification.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for audits, compliance reviews, and governance inquiries.

6. Access Management & Controls

  • Define and enforce role-based access models aligned with the principle of least privilege.
  • Ensure proper access approval workflows, periodic reviews, and audit compliance.
  • Support identity and access governance processes.

7. Vendor & Third-Party Management

  • Identify and manage third-party dependencies associated with the platform.
  • Provide technical inputs for vendor evaluations, contracts, and due diligence.
  • Support third-party risk assessments and ensure mitigation of identified risks.

8. Audit & Assurance Support

  • Support internal and external audits by providing evidence and documentation.
  • Review control effectiveness and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Maintain alignment with IT control frameworks and assurance requirements.


As a Senior Software Engineering Technical Specialist, you will also coach and mentor engineers to address IT compliance. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 8+ years of experience in IT governance, risk management, compliance, and enterprise application lifecycle management.
  • Proven track record as a Technical Owner / Compliance Lead, ensuring end-to-end accountability for application governance, architecture integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong experience in enterprise architecture alignment, including leading design reviews and ensuring adherence to architectural standards and integration best practices.
  • Extensive expertise in IT GRC frameworks, including implementation and management of controls aligned with SOX, SOC, ISO 27001, and internal audit requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability in risk identification, assessment, and remediation, including vulnerability management and audit finding closure.
  • Hands-on experience in data privacy and protection, ensuring compliance with global regulations and maintaining accurate data flow and classification documentation.
  • Skilled in identity and access management (IAM), including role-based access control design, periodic access reviews, and audit-compliant access governance.
  • Experience managing third-party/vendor risk, including technical due diligence, risk assessments, and mitigation tracking.
  • Strong exposure to audit and assurance processes, supporting internal/external audits, preparing evidence, and ensuring control effectiveness.
  • Adept at maintaining system documentation, inventory accuracy, and audit readiness across the application lifecycle.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, collaborating with architecture, security, risk, audit, and business teams to drive compliance outcomes



Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field

- Candidates holding certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, CIPP/CIPM, CCSP, TPRM, or TOGAF will be preferred.
