Southeast Asia's fintech moment starts here.

About the role:

You'll build and tune the fraud rules protecting Salmon's real-time payment decisioning platform, adapting to evolving transaction volumes and fraud patterns.

What you'll do:

  • Work with custom scripting, complex decision logic, and live transaction data across Salmon's real-time payment decisioning platform.

  • Partner daily with fraud, AML, compliance, and operations teams to translate risk requirements into production-ready system logic.

  • Operate across the full lifecycle — from rule design and API integration through deployment, incident response, and documentation.

What you'll own:

  • Build and tune antifraud rules and decision logic in the automated platform, iterating on detection performance as fraud patterns evolve.

  • Design and build API integrations for fraud and risk decisioning from scratch, and manage integrations with AML, Core Banking, and external service providers.

  • Design new microservices and improve existing service logic and architecture.

  • Investigate and resolve production incidents for fraud-related services, and document outcomes.

  • Own the full delivery lifecycle — gather requirements, manage tasks in Jira and Confluence, oversee releases, and monitor services in production.

  • Write and maintain clear technical documentation for rules, integrations, and system components.

What makes you a strong fit:

  • 3+ years of experience as a System Analyst, System Engineer, or Software Developer in fintech or banking.

  • Hands-on experience with code development or low-code/automation platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, system integration patterns, and API design — comfortable building integrations from scratch.

  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation.

  • Familiar with GitLab or GitOps workflows.

  • English level B2 or higher — capable of effective written and verbal communication.

What we offer:

Ownership and flexibility

  • Stock option plan — four-year vesting with a 25% cliff after the first year

  • Fully remote work with core collaboration hours from 12:00 to 6:00 PM Manila time (UTC+8)

  • Company-provided tools and equipment

Health and time off

  • Medical insurance support for you and your family through co-funding or reimbursement, depending on your location and subject to policy limits

  • Access to an internal mental health support specialist

  • 22 vacation days, Philippine public holidays, and 15 sick days

Growth and team experience

  • Opportunities to learn and share your expertise through internal expert meetups, external conferences, speaking opportunities, and industry publications

  • Company-sponsored trips to Manila to meet and work with your team in person

  • High-performing teams can earn a dedicated beach house week in Southeast Asia

We believe strong teams are built by people with different backgrounds, experiences, and points of view. Salmon is an equal opportunity employer, and we make hiring decisions based on skills, experience, and potential.
