Summary

Technical Product Owner at Robert Bosch Robotics GmbH in Renningen who owns factory-workflow requirements for an AI-assisted robotics harness: translating robot skills and MES/OT state into runtime contracts, setting acceptance and release criteria, and prioritizing the backlog. Core tech: ROS 2, OPC UA, MQTT/Sparkplug; German and English required.

  • As part of our team, you will own factory-workflow requirements and measurable product outcomes. You translate robot capabilities, production tasks, and MES/OT state into explicit runtime contracts and acceptance criteria.
  • You will prioritize the harness backlog across AI-assisted task planning, skill dispatch, state tracking, and integration interfaces. In doing so, you make operational constraints explicit, including dependencies on robot skills, controls, and plant systems.
  • Additionally, you will define acceptance criteria for normal execution, uncertain inputs, interrupted tasks, recovery, and operator intervention. You establish what AI may propose and which execution conditions must be checked before action.
  • You will take ownership of product acceptance and release readiness together with the Tech Lead and dedicated QA. You set plant-validation criteria, resolve evidence gaps, and defer release when workflow reliability, recovery, or integration constraints are not demonstrated.
  • Furthermore, you will make and defend scope and priority decisions across plant stakeholders. Using operational telemetry, defects, and integration costs, you improve reusable orchestration capabilities while maintaining traceable requirements and release decisions.
  • Using our Agentic AI Software Factory, you will support backlog refinement, reporting, and documentation. You keep this development workflow distinct from the AI capabilities executed by the product’s runtime harness.
  • Education: completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics or a related field
  • Experience and Knowledge:
    • proven ownership of technical scope, prioritization, and acceptance for deployed robotics, automation, or MES/OT software products, including decisions balancing conflicting plant requirements and engineering constraints with measurable operational outcomes
    • strong understanding of runtime state, skill dispatch, interface contracts, interruption, and recovery, with the ability to critically assess architecture and test coverage
    • demonstrated ability to define acceptance evidence for AI-assisted planning, including invalid outputs and uncertain observations
    • hands-on experience using plant trials, defects, and telemetry to adjust priorities or stop releases, with ownership of technical product decisions through plant validation
    • expertise with AI-assisted workflows and critical review, potentially including AI tool interfaces, planning and state machines, ROS 2, OPC UA, MQTT/Sparkplug, runtime tracing, and fault-injection testing
    • generic agile coordination or backlog administration alone is insufficient
  • Personality and Working Practice: you are an organized decision-maker who clearly communicates plant constraints and translates technical uncertainty into clear priorities and acceptance evidence
  • Enthusiasm: making robots and factory systems cooperate reliably during real production workflows
  • Languages: very good spoken and written German and English
