Technical Program Manager, AI- International

Discussion

About the role

You own 1 or 2 strategic partner accounts and you are accountable for what comes out of them from implementation planning through on-going operations, ensuring they are getting the most value from the 7SG relationship.

Our customers are telcos and neoclouds building AI platforms that their enterprise and government customers will run on. That gives the job two layers. The partner has to operate the platform. The partner's customers have to adopt it. Neither one happens unless the architecture is correct.

The platform solves the technical problem with enterprise AI adoption. The organizational one is open. Partners are built around processes that assume the old cost of doing things: large teams, long cycles, heavy infrastructure. AI changes what those processes should cost, and no process updates itself. Your job is to make it update, inside regulated national-scale environments where nothing ships casually.

What you'll own

The account. Single point of accountability for 1 or 2 partners, from the executive sponsor down through delivery. You are measured on how much of the platform they adopt and operate, not on how quickly projects get closed.

Adoption on both sides. Get the partner’s internal AI workloads into production, followed by getting the partner's customers onto the platform. The target is 3 or more production workloads within 12 months, starting from zero.

The organization around the technology. Rethink processes with the partner's teams. Enable every group between us and the developer: IT, network operations, security, compliance, governance, procurement, the business units. The developer is the end user, and the developer's experience depends on all of them being ready.

Contract project managers. As a build-out grows, you bring in contract PMs for tactical execution under your oversight. You have input in the SOW’s. You own the outcome.

Knowledge that travels. What you learn at the first partner becomes the starting point for the next one. You write the playbook for the organizational change alongside the technical documentation.

How this job is staffed

One or two program managers do the work that has traditionally taken four or five people: engagement manager, program manager, technical account manager, customer success manager. AI covers the coordination layer. If you want to prove that model rather than argue about it, this is the seat for you.

Qualifications

Where you have probably been

Technical program manager or engagement manager at a consultancy

Customer success director or technical account manager at an enterprise software company

Solutions architect or principal consultant in a transformation practice

Program director at a systems integrator, on the organizational change side of the work

Must-haves:

7 to 10+ years on strategic enterprise or carrier accounts, $5M to $50M and up

You have changed how a customer organization works, and you can name the change and what it produced

Comfortable across IT, network operations, business units, governance, security, and procurement in the same week

Technical credibility on AI/ML, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. Be able to hold your own in discussions with client senior technical leaders.

You have delivered through partners rather than direct to end users: GSIs, telcos, or other intermediaries

Regulated industry background: telecom, financial services, healthcare, government

Nice to haves:

Telco or neocloud experience. Useful, and not required. The skills and the track record matter more than the logo on the badge

AI/ML platform implementation experience (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS SageMaker)

Management consulting background, strategy through execution

Startup or scale-up experience, comfortable building process from nothing

International accounts, Middle East or Asia-Pacific

How you spend your time

Roughly half your time sits with partner stakeholders, executives through network operations leads, business units, and governance. About a quarter goes to the organizational work: process redesign, change management, enablement. The rest splits between AI-augmented program coordination and writing up what you learn so the next account starts ahead of this one.
