The Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EAA) team at Coinbase builds and operates the internal platforms and business systems that power Coinbase at scale. Within EAA, the CX Customer Administration Engineering team owns an internal platform used by CX, Legal, Compliance, and other teams to manage customer accounts, access permissions, and operational workflows. As a Technical Program Manager, you'll own access operations and permissions governance for this internal tool, designing and maintaining role-based access models, driving security remediation toward least-privilege controls, and partnering with engineering to ensure new features launch with the right entitlements in place.

What you'll do:

  • Own access operations end-to-end, including group administration, role and persona mapping, approval routing, and access triage for internal teams.
  • Drive security remediation programs, moving user access toward least-privilege models through RBAC controls and mitigating high-risk user access.
  • Partner with product and engineering to translate new feature launches into permission models, entitlement updates, and operational readiness plans.
  • Author and maintain runbooks, access matrices, and support documentation that enable internal teams to self-serve and reduce repeat access requests.
  • Identify tooling and process gaps in access operations and convert them into structured engineering or operational work items with clear scope, priority, and measurable targets.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of technical program or project management experience in internal tools, access management, or platform operations environments.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or administering role-based access control models, including LDAP or equivalent identity and entitlement frameworks.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, security, and business teams to deliver access changes, permission rollouts, or compliance remediation programs.
  • Experience writing and maintaining technical documentation such as runbooks, access matrices, and operational guides for internal audiences.
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
