Technical Program Manager, Geo Intel and Escalations
Summary
Lead cross-functional projects to investigate and mitigate abuse attacks, security incidents, and risks for Google Maps and related Geo products, coordinating engineering, security, and partner teams.
The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.
The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.
- Drive forensic root cause analysis of abuse attacks and design processes to optimize the impact of incident investigations.
- Produce reports and communications to enable partner teams to develop mitigation plans.
- Drive risk mitigation programs for significant events (elections, social unrest etc).
- Partner with engineering teams to develop subject matter expertise about system vulnerabilities.
- Act as an Incident Manager to contain abuse attacks/unplanned events.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in program management.
Preferred qualifications:
- 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience in analysis, SQL, incident management and vendor management.
- Experience in an abuse fighting or security domain and incident or crisis management protocol and ability to operate under pressure during a crisis.
- Experience in computer security industry such as detection research, malware analysis, threat intelligence, cyber incident response, or Penetration Testing/Red Team and Open Source Intelligence Gathering OSINT) based investigations.
- Experience with Geo data management.
