Technical Program Manager

The Technical Program Manager will lead the launch of specific turbocharger and supercharger programs. This role may be located in Shelbyville, IL or Southfield, MI.

PREREQUISITES:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive product development, engineering, or program management.
• Experience leading automotive hardware development programs from concept through launch.
• Experience with turbochargers, superchargers, powertrain systems, engine components, thermal systems, or related mechanical products is highly desirable.
• Experience working with OEM customers and Tier-1 automotive suppliers is preferred

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Knowledge of automotive product development and launch
• Serve as the primary program interface between IHI and customer engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams.
• Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of product development from quotation and concept selection through production launch.
• Manage program scope, timing, budget, risk, and customer deliverables.
• Coordinate engineering activities related to product design, validation, supplier development, and manufacturing readiness.
• Evaluate program risks and implement mitigation plans to maintain launch timing and budget objectives.
• Ensure readiness for prototype, DV, PV, PPAP, and production launch events.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, validation plans, and manufacturing process documentation.
• Practice professional acumen when using influence and persuasiveness to hold both IHI and customer team members responsible for completing their tasks on time.
• Knowledge of industry standard program launch phase gate system and project milestones (Concept Validation, Design Validation, APQP, Process Validation, PPAP, etc.)
