Summary

Leads complex cloud networking projects to deploy and maintain Google's global data network infrastructure, coordinating with engineers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to improve scalability and efficiency.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Driving continuous process improvement, introducing automation, and more scalable workforce solutions are key to getting better, faster, and more efficient across network deployment, capacity augment, and network repair.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will need knowledge of telecommunications data networks and how they are built and maintained in metros and data centers. You are expected to have the ability to work effectively across multiple functions inside and outside of Google to develop creative and scalable approaches to deploying and operating our network globally.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $237000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Collaborate with Network Design, Capacity Delivery, and Field teams to translate network solutions into standard, scalable Bill Of Materials (BOMs) and design packages for third-party execution across multiple sites.
Develop repeatable stateless work packages for third-party provisioners and coordinators to execute with minimal oversight.
Work with site acquisition, Edge Infrastructure, and colocation providers on solutions for fast, scalable deployments and full life-cycle operations support.
Support the Google networking mission by managing vendor selection, onboarding, and oversight. Act as the primary technical escalation point for quality assurance and service improvement.
Drive performance measurement, process improvement, and automation across internal and external groups to optimize network build quality and repair intervals.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in program management.
Experience managing a telecommunications or data networking business unit.
Experience with network infrastructure and Layer 1, 2, and 3 network services (e.g., dark fiber, DWDM).

Preferred qualifications:

5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Experience with significant network deployment or field operations in network data centers or colocation facilities.
Experience managing third parties to successfully execute against objectives.
