Description

Job Type: Full-time | Location: Sydney, NSW | Department: Network | Reporting to: Vice President, Network Engineering | Work Location Type: #onsite

IREN is a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider, delivering large-scale data centers and GPU clusters for AI training and inference. IREN’s platform is underpinned by its expansive portfolio of grid-connected land and power in renewable-rich regions across North America, Europe and APAC.

With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way – responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.

We have grown substantially since 2019, from our inception in Australia to now having several facilities across North America and being listed on NASDAQ… and we are just getting started! By joining us, you will be contributing to the future of sustainable high-performance compute and the local communities we strive to have a positive impact on.

Our Network Engineering team builds the networks that power AI at scale. We design and run the high-performance fabrics that connect tens of thousands of GPUs, the backbone and WAN that link our campuses across continents, and the facilities networks that keep our data centres safe and running.
Our work spans all aspects of network engineering for IREN, from the data centre and core to the WAN and peering edge

As Technical Program Manager, Networking you will turn IREN's growth plans into delivered network capacity. You will run the programs that plan, order, install and bring into service the network for new data centres and AI clusters, and bring together the teams across IREN that make each build happen on time.

Responsibilities

  • Own network capacity planning with engineering: forecast demand from new sites and AI clusters, and turn it into equipment, fibre and circuit plans.
  • Run network install programs end to end, from ordering and logistics through rack and stack, cabling, bring-up and handover to operations.
  • Coordinate across data centre construction, facilities, procurement, finance, supply chain and customer teams so networking is ready when each site is.
  • Manage suppliers, carriers and installation partners, tracking orders, lead times and delivery against plan.
  • Build and maintain program plans, schedules and dependencies, and keep them current as priorities shift.
  • Identify risks and blockers early, drive them to resolution and escalate with clear options when needed.
  • Report program status, capacity and milestones to engineering and executive stakeholders.
  • Improve how we plan and deliver, using data, tooling and automation to make builds faster and more predictable.
Growth Opportunities
  • Deliver network capacity for one of the fastest-growing AI cloud platforms.
  • Grow towards senior program leadership as the team and build program expand.

Requirements

  • Solid experience as a technical program or project manager delivering network, data centre or telecommunications infrastructure.
  • A working technical understanding of networking, including data centre fabrics, fibre, WAN and routing, enough to challenge plans and spot risks.
  • Experience with capacity planning, procurement and long-lead equipment in fast-growing environments.
  • A track record of coordinating many teams and suppliers to deliver complex builds on schedule.
  • Strong planning and tracking skills with tools such as Jira, Smartsheet or Microsoft Project, and confidence working with data in spreadsheets or dashboards.
  • Experience with GPU or HPC cluster builds is highly regarded.
  • Clear, concise communication with engineers, partners and executives alike.
  • Calm, organised and decisive when priorities change.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range finalized based on experience and impact
  • Short and long-term incentive programs designed to reward both results and long term company success
We value diverse perspectives and believe that skills can be developed. If you’re passionate about this role, we want to hear from you — whether you meet every criteria or not. Your unique experiences might be exactly what we need!
