Technical Project Manager
We are seeking a versatile Senior Technical Project Manager who seamlessly bridges executive-level project leadership with deep, hands-on cloud engineering expertise. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end cloud migration initiatives, designing enterprise-grade cloud solutions across AWS and Azure, and directly executing hands-on virtual machine (VM) migrations.
The ideal candidate does not just manage spreadsheets and timelines—you understand the underlying cloud infrastructure, actively troubleshoot migration pipelines, design resilient landing zones, and translate business goals into scalable technical roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Project Management & Delivery
● Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, risk management, and governance for large-scale enterprise cloud migrations.
● Define project scope, schedules, budget, milestones, resource allocation, and key deliverables using Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies.
● Act as the central communication hub between business executives, enterprise architects, DevOps engineers, and 3rd-party vendors.
● Conduct regular technical risk assessments, dependency tracking, and executive status reporting.
2. Enterprise Cloud Solution Architecture
● Architect scalable, highly available, secure, and cost-effective multi-cloud solutions across AWS and Microsoft Azure.
● Design cloud foundation components, including landing zones, network topologies (VPCs, VNets, DirectConnect, ExpressRoute), Identity and Access Management (IAM), governance, and security controls.
● Evaluate existing legacy architectures (on-premise, colocation, or private cloud) and formulate migration strategies (6 Rs: Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, etc.).
3. Hands-On VM Migration & Technical Execution
● Execute hands-on migrations of virtualized workloads (Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V) into AWS and Azure environments.
● Hands-on utilization of native and third-party migration tools (e.g., AWS Application Migration Service [MGN], Azure Migrate, Carbonite, Zerto, VMware HCX).
● Perform pre-migration readiness assessments, dependency mapping, network configuration, target sizing, and cutover execution.
● Conduct post-migration validation, performance tuning, and operational handoff.
Required Qualifications & Skills
● Experience: 7+ years in IT project management with at least 4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture and VM migration execution.
● Dual-Cloud Expertise: Proven design and implementation experience with both AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
● Hands-on Technical Skillset:
○ Direct experience running VM migration tools (Azure Migrate, AWS MGN, Zerto, VMware HCX).
○ Strong knowledge of hypervisors (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux/Unix).
○ Deep understanding of hybrid cloud networking: DNS, VPNs, ExpressRoute, DirectConnect, subnets, routing tables, and firewalls.
● Project Management Mastery: Demonstrated success managing multi-phase, cross-functional technical projects from inception to completion.
Preferred Certifications & Tech Stack
Professional Certifications (Highly Desired)
● Cloud Architecture: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional AND/OR Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
● Project Management: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
Technical Stack Familiarity
● Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep/ARM templates.
● Automation & Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ansible.
● Cloud FinOps & Governance: AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, AWS Organizations, Azure Management Groups.
● Compliance & Security: Knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or NIST frameworks in cloud contexts.
