Our teams enjoy a culture focused on prioritizing a flexible work environment that empowers individual growth, well-being, and belonging. We’re a technology company that leads with our humanity—driving our business priorities alongside meaningful social, community, and societal impact.

The Technical Project Manager – Staging in Factory (SIF) coordinates factory staging and Factory Acceptance Testing projects at the Celestica facility in Thailand, connecting customer requirements with safe, high-quality, cost-effective execution. The role drives technical order validation, capacity planning, delivery, shipment, operational reporting, and cross-functional issue resolution for customer and business commitments. This position contributes to reliable factory performance while working with Ciena’s optical and packet networking technologies in an inclusive, collaborative environment.

How you will make an impact:

  • Lead coordinated execution of SIF and Factory Acceptance Testing projects from technical order validation and scope definition through factory delivery, shipment, and operational reporting.
  • Validate customer requirements, technical orders, deliverables, assumptions, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and scope of work, and prepare statements of work and technician resource requirements in the SIF application.
  • Develop integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, action plans, risk and issue tracking, dependencies, forecasts, and status reports.
  • Direct capacity and workforce planning with Celestica and Ciena functional teams, providing complete scope-of-work packages for resource planning and partner requests for quotation.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Deployment Coordinators, Manufacturing, Services, Information Technology, regional technical teams, partners, suppliers, and customer teams throughout execution.
  • Monitor quality, schedule, throughput, capacity, cost, delivery, revenue assurance, inventory readiness, shipments, and Celestica performance against agreed service levels and SIF metrics.
  • Resolve technical issues, including encryption-related processes, develop or contribute to complex methods of procedure, enforce commissioning, safety, and quality standards, and identify change requests, automation, cost reductions, and process improvements.

The must haves:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related discipline preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience: 3–8 years of directly related experience in optical, Ethernet, telecommunications services, manufacturing, factory staging, or technical project delivery.
  • Demonstrated translation of customer and technical requirements into executable scope, tasks, milestones, resource plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Background in project coordination, resource management, outsourcing or partner delivery, and cross-functional execution.
  • Application of problem-solving, decision-making, critical-thinking, leadership, team-building, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Utilization of Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn project-management and SIF software tools.
  • Ability to work at, or maintain regular on-site presence at, the Celestica facility in Thailand; travel up to 40% based on business and project requirements; and work outside standard hours when required for factory operations, customer milestones, escalations, and global teams.

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of just-in-time concepts, inventory flow, factory operations, or supply-chain coordination.
  • Broad knowledge of Ciena’s product portfolio and prior experience in a Services organization..
