Technical Project Manager - Propulsion Battery System (all genders)
Summary
Lead the end-to-end development and certification of an electric propulsion system for next-gen electric aircraft, coordinating engineering, testing, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
Your Mission:
As Project Manager – Propulsion Battery System, you will lead the development, integration and industrialisation of VÆRIDION's aircraft battery system and high-voltage electrical distribution. You will manage cross-functional activities across battery and HV engineering, testing, safety, certification, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure system milestones are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with programme and airworthiness requirements.
Your Day-to-Day:
Lead the end-to-end battery system and HV distribution project from concept through certification and industrialisation
Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and system-level delivery roadmaps
Coordinate the design, development, testing, and aircraft integration of battery packs, battery management systems, HV distribution, protection, switching, cabling, and associated interfaces
Drive requirements reviews, architecture and design reviews, programme milestones, risk management, and change control processes
Track technical maturity, safety and certification evidence, project performance, and key deliverables against programme objectives
Manage battery, electrical component, and development partners, ensuring delivery to scope, schedule, quality, and cost targets
Facilitate alignment between battery, electrical, propulsion, aircraft systems, safety, certification, manufacturing, and supply chain teams
Support verification, validation, qualification, and certification activities, including battery safety, thermal propagation, HV protection, and system integration testing
Proactively identify and resolve technical, programme, supply chain, and organisational risks, with particular focus on battery safety and high-voltage interfaces
Provide clear status reporting, escalation, and decision support to leadership and stakeholders
Your Profile:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Electrochemical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related field
Several years of project management experience in aerospace, aviation, automotive, battery technology, or another safety-critical industry
Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary development projects involving battery systems, high-voltage systems, or electrical power distribution
Strong understanding of systems engineering, product development, verification, configuration management, and safety-critical hardware development
Experience coordinating engineering teams, suppliers, test facilities, and external development partners
Excellent planning, communication, risk management, and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of lithium-ion battery systems, battery management systems, high-voltage architectures, electrical protection, thermal management, and relevant interfaces is highly desirable
Familiarity with aerospace certification and safety processes for batteries and high-voltage electrical systems is advantageous
Fluent in English; German is a plus
Proficiency with project management and product lifecycle management tools
