Technical Project Manager

Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Project management certification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMI, PMP, CSM or equivalent.
  • Other relevant technical qualifications.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering end-to-end technical or IT projects.
  • Experience working within an MSP, IT services provider, technology consultancy or similar technical environment.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across different customers and technologies.
  • Experience managing project budgets, resources, risks and stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience delivering cloud migration, cyber security, infrastructure, telecoms or digital transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Background in infrastructure, cyber security, networking or telecoms delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Good working knowledge of IT infrastructure including networking, servers, virtualisation, cloud technologies and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously and proactively solve problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS or other public cloud platforms.
  • Based within commuting distance of Teesside or willing to travel as required.
  • Demonstrable ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Preferred certification in project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, APM, PMI, CSM or IAPM.
  • Proven experience successfully managing large-scale, complex technical projects including cloud migration, cyber security, infrastructure, telecoms or digital transformation projects.
  • Expertise in project lifecycle management, including designing, implementing, managing, and evaluating multiple concurrent projects to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Proficient in leveraging industry-specific software and project management tools to streamline processes, enhance collaboration, and drive project efficiency.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities, with a talent for conveying technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent conversational fluency in English is required to clearly explain complex technical issues.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of technical and IT projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Create, maintain and own project plans, schedules, documentation and status reporting.
  • Lead project meetings, steering groups and stakeholder engagements with both internal and external parties.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers and third parties throughout project delivery.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, reporting and commercial performance.
  • Coordinate and manage resource allocation across consultants, engineers and delivery teams.
  • Identify, manage and escalate project risks, issues, dependencies and change requests as required.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring projects are delivered to agreed scope, timescales, budget and quality standards.
  • Manage the transition of completed projects into operational support and service delivery teams.
  • Deliver complex client onboarding, migration, infrastructure, cloud and transformation projects.
  • Maintain accurate project information within internal business systems and project management tools.
  • Produce project reports, governance updates and client-facing documentation.
  • Support and develop other members of the project team through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide guidance and project management expertise to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Act as a point of escalation and support for project-related challenges.
