Technical Sales Specialist – Genomics & NGS (APAC)

Our client is a global leader in healthcare technology, delivering innovative genomics and molecular diagnostics solutions that support precision medicine and improve patient outcomes.

As part of the APAC commercial team, you will act as the technical subject matter expert, partnering closely with the regional sales team to support customers across Southeast Asia and the wider Asia Pacific region. This is a customer-facing pre-sales role, ideal for scientific professionals who enjoy combining technical expertise with commercial engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the regional Sales team as the technical expert throughout the sales cycle, supporting customer engagement and contributing to successful commercial outcomes.
• Deliver product demonstrations, scientific presentations, customer workshops, and technical seminars for hospitals, clinical laboratories, and research institutions.
• Provide technical expertise across the end-to-end genomics and NGS workflow, including wet lab molecular biology technologies, sequencing platforms, and downstream bioinformatics or genomic interpretation solutions.
• Support customer evaluations, validation projects, proof-of-concept activities, and solution implementation by providing scientific and application expertise.
• Represent the company at scientific conferences, exhibitions, and industry events while building strong relationships with customers and key opinion leaders.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Technical Support teams to gather market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights that contribute to business growth and product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Oncology, or a related Life Sciences discipline.
• Experience in a customer-facing scientific or technical role within genomics, molecular diagnostics, biotechnology, clinical diagnostics, or the healthcare industry.
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end NGS workflow, including sample preparation, library preparation, sequencing technologies, molecular biology techniques, and downstream genomic data analysis or interpretation.
• Experience supporting products across both wet lab molecular biology technologies and NGS analysis, bioinformatics, or genomic interpretation software solutions is highly desirable.
• Candidates with experience as a Field Applications Scientist (FAS), Clinical Applications Specialist, Technical Sales Specialist, Product Specialist, Technical Support Specialist, Subject Matter Expert, or a similar customer-facing scientific role are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to both technical and commercial audiences.
• Willingness to travel across Southeast Asia and the wider APAC region, with professional proficiency in English.
