The key purpose of this role is to take the Strategic lead for the Engineering and Utilities functions in the Maltings and ensure plant reliability for all process areas (Plant LEF). This includes the Environmental plant equipment effectiveness and maintain process system and control health. To lead related Strategic Initiatives in the Maltings Plant, ensuring Corporate Governance for equipment and system integrity through the application of and adherence to relevant Standards and Legislation.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintain safe healthy and risk-free working environment
Ensure safety, healthy & environmental legislation compliance
Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
Manage Human Resources
Develop employees based on identified needs through OPR sessions
Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate
Manage technical pipeline for key roles
Manage apprenticeship and artisan development for site
Ensure manufacturing systems and instrumentation integrity
Maintain system integrity and change control
Maintain and calibrate site instrumentation
Ensure engineering standards compliance
Ensure application documented standards
Develop and update engineering standards through ZBS Maintenance and Energy & Fluids
Reporting
Diagnose business performance problems and collaborate with specialist teams to create effective and integrated HR solutions for teams & individuals.
Provide feedback to specialist teams about HR solution effectiveness and work with them as appropriate to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Monitor organisation performance & provide data for the people/organisation scorecard.
Employee Engagement
Review feedback from Employee Engagement surveys as well as other people data [e.g. exit interviews, KPI scorecards)
To understand issues associated with engagement. Develop and implement appropriate plans to focus on building
engagement.
VPO
Lead the People Pillar VPO Agenda across the Plant
Minimum Requirement:
Min – Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical)
South African Department of Labour issued Government Certificate of Competence
Min – 12 months on the job training
2-3 Years as a Packaging or Brewing & Utilities Engineer
Additional business qualification (Advantageous)
Advanced Utilities Plant training. Ammonis training (Advantageous)
24 months on the job training (Advantageous)
12 Months in a Utilities environment (Advantageous)
