About the position

Jeppesen Foreflight is one of the largest software development companies in Gothenburg. We develop and implement innovative resource management and optimization solutions for the world’s leading airlines. We are dedicated to continuous improvement and delivering value to our customers.

About the role

Production Configuration Services serves as the connection between product implementation and customer support. Once an airline goes live on our Planning & Operations products, our team remains closely engaged with their configuration layer — maintaining business logic, resolving issues, refining requirements, and building the interfaces that ensure the product aligns with how they operate.

This role extends well beyond software development. You will spend as much time in direct discussions with customer — addressing requirements and configuration challenges — as you will writing code.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical liaison for customers, engaging directly with stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver fully configured, developed solutions
  • Lead requirement change-assessment meetings with customers, providing technical guidance and direction throughout the discussion
  • Collaborate with customer to resolve issues within live production environments, minimizing impact to their operations
  • Develop solution designs, provide effort estimates, and present roll out plans to stakeholders prior to execution
  • Mentor and develop customer-side engineers, strengthening their technical capability within the configuration layer
  • Provide technical oversight across integration initiatives, including code review and cross-functional troubleshooting with customer and internal teams
  • Design and maintain the interfaces and tools connecting internal systems to customer environments, ensuring a seamless technical experience
  • Identify opportunities to increase the value customers derive from existing solutions, supporting long-term account growth

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience, with demonstrated success engaging directly with customers or end users in a professional capacity
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working within Linux/Unix environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Python
  • Demonstrated experience managing codebases and deployment pipelines (Git, GitLab, GitHub, or equivalent)
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Airline or crew/operations planning experience
  • Agile team background
  • Relational database modelling, PostgreSQL
  • Test-driven development (Gherkin, Behave)
  • Containerization/virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes, Vagrant, VirtualBox)
  • Cloud IaaS/PaaS (AWS, Azure)
  • Camel, XML, data integration work
  • Shell scripting, functional programming (RAVE)
  • Additional languages
  • AI prompt engineering

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area of Gothenburg or relocate at their own expense.
