About IREN

IREN is building the infrastructure behind the next era of AI. We design, build, and operate massive-scale data centers, and we’re racing to deploy some of the largest fleets of GPU and CPU compute on the planet. This isn’t incremental growth — it’s a full-throttle sprint to power the frontier of AI and high-performance computing. Our Technical Sourcing team sits at the center of that mission, securing the compute, services, and partnerships that let IREN move faster than anyone else in the industry.

The Role
IREN is looking for a Technical Sourcing Manager, Server & Storage Platforms to take full ownership of our most critical OEM and ODM relationships. This is not a support role — you’ll be the commercial and operational owner of multimillion-dollar partnerships, driving the negotiations, pricing strategy, and supply commitments that determine how fast IREN can build.
If you love the adrenaline of a supply-constrained market, thrive on high-stakes negotiation, and want to see your work show up as racks going live in a live data center within weeks of your decisions — this is the seat for you. You’ll operate with real autonomy, direct executive visibility, and the mandate to shape how IREN sources Server & Storage Platforms at hyperscale.

Responsibilities

  1. Own OEM and ODM compute sourcing relationships end-to-end: commercial negotiations, pricing, quoting, contracting, and account governance.
  2. Drive sourcing and procurement of compute & storage platforms — servers, GPU/AI systems, storage, and associated components — powering IREN’s AI compute rack build programs.
  3. Stay ahead of a brutally supply-constrained market: track and manage allocation of GPUs, CPUs, memory, NICs, and power supplies, and get out in front of shortages before they become blockers.
  4. Partner directly with Engineering, Data Center Operations, and Program Management to keep sourcing timelines locked in step with construction, provisioning, and go-live milestones.
  5. Lead high-stakes RFQ/RFP processes, cost modeling, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis for major compute & storage hardware programs.
  6. Negotiate master purchase agreements, pricing schedules, SLAs, warranty terms, and support/maintenance contracts that protect IREN’s speed and margins.
  7. Track OEM and ODM product roadmaps closely and shape sourcing strategy around the next wave of CPU/GPU generations, chassis, and cooling designs before the market catches up.
  8. Own supplier performance — delivery, quality, escalations, and quarterly business reviews — and hold OEM and ODM partners to a standard worthy of IREN’s growth.
  9. Build and maintain demand forecasts with capacity planning and finance to drive purchase order timing and volume commitments.
  10. Hunt for cost-savings and risk-mitigation opportunities: dual-sourcing, strategic buys, contract restructuring — anything that gives IREN an edge.
  11. Keep sourcing records, contract documentation, and reporting sharp and audit-ready for internal stakeholders and leadership.

Preferred
  1. Existing relationships within a major OEM’s and/or ODM’s enterprise/infrastructure account team.
  2. Experience sourcing for AI training/inference infrastructure at scale (thousands of GPUs).
  3. Deep familiarity with data center commissioning timelines and how hardware delivery integrates with provisioning and rack integration schedules.

Requirements

  1. 8+ years of experience in technical sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with direct experience sourcing compute or storage hardware from a major server OEM and/or ODM.
  2. Proven track record sourcing server/compute or storage hardware in a data center, hyperscale, cloud, or AI/HPC environment.
  3. Deep understanding of server architecture, GPU-based compute platforms, and component-level supply chains (CPUs, GPUs, memory, storage, networking).
  4. Demonstrated success negotiating complex, high-value commercial agreements and managing multimillion-dollar OEM and ODM relationships.
  5. Battle-tested experience navigating supply-constrained/allocation-based markets (e.g., GPU shortages) and building mitigation strategies that actually work.
  6. Sharp analytical instincts — comfortable building cost models, TCO analyses, and forecasts under pressure.
  7. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills; equally at home with engineering, operations, finance, and legal.
  8. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
