About the Role

Maxwell Ship Management Pte. Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Superintendent to join our Technical Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical management of the Company's fleet, ensuring vessels are maintained in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner while complying with all statutory, class, flag state, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day technical management of assigned vessels.
  • Monitor vessel performance, machinery condition, and maintenance planning.
  • Ensure compliance with Flag State, Class, ISM Code, MLC, MARPOL, and Company requirements.
  • Plan and supervise vessel repairs, dry-docking, and maintenance projects.
  • Review Planned Maintenance System (PMS) records and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and monitor vessel repair and maintenance budgets.
  • Coordinate with Masters, Chief Engineers, shipyards, classification societies, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Attend vessels when required for inspections, audits, repairs, and emergencies.
  • Investigate machinery failures and technical incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate technical reports submitted by vessels and provide guidance where necessary.
  • Ensure spare parts, stores, and technical services are arranged efficiently.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in managing bunker barges, bunker tankers, or coastal tankers is essential.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a Technical Superintendent or similar technical management role.
  • Sailing experience as a Marine Engineer or Deck Officer will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of vessel maintenance, dry-docking, ISM Code, PMS, and marine regulations.
  • Familiar with Singapore maritime industry requirements and bunker operations.
  • Good communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple vessels simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with planned maintenance systems (PMS).
  • Experience preparing technical budgets and monitoring repair costs.
  • Knowledge of Class and Flag State requirements.
  • Experience managing shipyards, contractors, and technical vendors.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
