TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT
Summary
Oversee the technical performance, safety, and efficiency of 5–10 vessels, conducting inspections, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations.
Responsible for the optimal technical performance of assigned vessels and ensure that vessels meet the applicable requirements to safety, quality, energy efficiency and environmental standards.
- Conduct vessel inspections and prepare reports on vessel deficiencies for the Senior Management to analyze. Follow up on necessary actions to be taken as a result of inspection report deficiencies, auditors report findings and feedback from Technical Manager
- Analyze and monitor the vessel budget and costs, including docking and modifications. Provide recommendations to improve the cost effectiveness of vessels. Identify areas for improvements and modifications for vessels and make recommendations for efficient operation of the vessels.
- Monitoring of new building vessels for drawings, review, ship trials, sea trials and delivery.
- Arrange for repairs, modifications and services to be rendered to vessels and ensure that they comply with statutory requirements and company standards
- Manage the incidents reporting activities and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to effectively close out the incident reports
- Keep abreast of the latest developments and regulations in the maritime industry and ascertain how new regulations would affect technical operations and maintenance of vessels in MCSS.
- No. of vessels will this person handle – between 5 to 10
- Sailing experience in other type of vessels but with experience as Chief Engineer in Dry bulk vessels is acceptable
- Familiarizations of engine type – ME electronic, MC Conventional and RT Flex
