About the role
We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in Perth. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our clients and ensuring their technology infrastructure runs smoothly. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be the frontline point of contact for technical issues, providing expert troubleshooting, problem resolution and technical guidance. This role is essential to maintaining client satisfaction and upholding Seisma's reputation for delivering outstanding technical support services.
Key responsibilities
Provide first-line and second-line technical support to clients via phone, email and remote access tools
Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network-related issues in a timely manner
Document all support interactions, issues and resolutions in our ticketing system with clear and accurate records
Escalate complex technical issues to senior support staff or engineering teams when necessary
Provide remote technical assistance to resolve client problems efficiently
Maintain knowledge of current technology systems, software applications and IT best practices
Proactively monitor systems and alert clients to potential issues before they impact operations
Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles and support guides
Deliver excellent customer service whilst maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour
Assist with the installation, configuration and deployment of IT systems and applications
What we're looking for
Relevant IT qualifications or certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Associate or equivalent
Proven experience in a technical support, help desk or IT support role for a minimum of 2–3 years
Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS and Linux
Solid understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols and network troubleshooting
Experience with remote support tools and remote desktop software
Proficiency with ticketing systems and IT management tools
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues logically and systematically
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering timely and professional support
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously develop technical expertise
Preferred experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
Preferred knowledge of virtualisation technologies or IT infrastructure management
