About the role
The Technical Support Specialist provides expert technical support to dealerships and service centers, including complex diagnostics, repair guidance, and root-cause investigations. This role serves as the primary escalation point for technical issues from dealers and internal teams, and collaborates with GAC engineering teams in China for advanced technical cases, product updates, and system enhancements.
Key responsibilities
Provide expert technical support to dealerships and service centers, including complex diagnostics, repair guidance, and root-cause investigations
Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues from dealers and internal teams
Collaborate with GAC engineering teams in China for advanced technical cases, product updates, and system enhancements
Develop and deliver technical training programs for dealer technicians, covering diagnostics, repair procedures, EV/hybrid systems, and OEM service standards
Monitor service performance, fault trends, warranty data, and repair quality to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities
Lead the creation and rollout of technical service bulletins, field fixes, recalls, and service campaigns
Conduct on-site dealer visits to support diagnostics, assess workshop readiness, and ensure compliance with GAC service standards
Work closely with Spare Parts Operations, Logistics, Warranty, Customer Service, and Sales teams to ensure seamless aftersales support
Maintain accurate technical documentation, service procedures, and dealer guidelines
Ensure compliance with GAC standards, local regulations, and safety protocols including EV-specific safety requirements
About you
Minimum 5 years' experience in automotive technical support, aftersales service, dealership technical operations, or OEM technical roles
Strong technical understanding of vehicle systems (mechanical, electrical, diagnostics)
Experience with hybrid/EV/NEV technologies is a strong advantage
Prior experience supporting a dealer network or OEM distributor preferred
Ability to diagnose complex vehicle issues and interpret diagnostic data
Strong communication skills for dealer engagement, technical training, and internal training
Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
Competence in technical training, workshop processes, and service quality assessment
Able to travel domestically and occasionally across Oceania
