Technical Writer (11am - 7pm shift)

Creates and maintains user documentation, training materials, and internal policies for Paycor’s HCM platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure clarity and consistency in technical content.
Overview
Do you have the belief that information should be easy to navigate, easy to search, and easy to consume? We are looking for a Technical Writer to help us write, organize and present product and process content to our associates and customers. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative yet also a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Technical Writer is responsible for developing and maintaining user assistance documentation, training manuals and internal policies/procedures in print, online and video formats. The Technical Writer manages projects and originates concepts for reference materials, working within Paycor's branding guidelines to ensure that all written materials align with our marketing standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational job aids, manuals, system enhancement documentation and reference materials to be used by Associates and Customers.
- Partner with key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure knowledge content is regularly updated and new assets are created with consistency and to gather requirements, determine project scope and produce deliverables
- Ensure a consistent tone of voice and clear writing format for all knowledge materials.
- Work with Enablement & Marketing leaders to ensure that internal and external teams are aware ofupdates to content.
- Govern content through ongoing maintenance, archiving and developing new content.
- Ensure content reliability, integrity, and consistency
- Communicate difficult concepts in a clear and digestible format to ensure maximum learning transfer to reader
- Ensure document control and maintain inventory of most recent publications
- Obtain thorough knowledge of business applications to effectively communicate content
- Role evolves as the need for pure writing shifts to AI human-in-the-loop
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or other related area
- 2 to 5 years of experience in related capacity
AI Readiness & Content Structuring
Self-starter who sets high and ambitious goals, and also works well as part of a team
Great organization skills and attention to detail
Excellent technical writing, editing, communication, and project management skills
Sound editorial judgment and a sharp curatorial eye for evaluating content that will thrive
Working knowledge and experience with content creation software, learning management software and strong Microsoft suite skills
Procedural writing experience for technical environment
Ability to create documents from start to finish
Ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment
Working knowledge of content layout concepts, with ability to produce visually pleasing materials that include relevant images and branding standards
