Technical Writer - 12 month FTC

Salary: $120k - $140k + Super

About the Company
Our client is a well-established service provider, currently rolling out a major CRM and workflow platform. Having grown through acquisition, they're now investing in stronger governance and documentation to support this transformation and their continued growth.

About the Role
This 12-month initiative role will build the business rules, policies and governance framework sitting above existing system documentation. Reporting to the business lead responsible for this space, you'll work largely from scratch, starting with the CRM rollout before potentially broadening into other business areas, with the role shifting to assurance and audit after year one.

Benefits
  • A genuine greenfield opportunity, you'll be shaping the documentation and governance framework from the ground up, not maintaining someone else's system
  • High visibility across the business, working directly with process owners, subject matter experts, and senior stakeholders
  • Scope to use AI and productivity tools (including Copilot) as part of your everyday workflow, rather than working around them
  • A pathway from establishing standards through to an assurance and audit focus as the initiative matures
Duties / Key Responsibilities
  • Lead documentation for the CRM rollout in the initial phase, with scope to expand into other parts of the business
  • Translate business processes into clear, structured documentation including policies, business rules, SOPs, and forms
  • Run review cycles with process owners and subject matter experts, managing sign-off and version control
  • Use AI and productivity tools to manage a high volume of documentation work
  • Transition from building standards to assurance and audit responsibilities.
Skills and Experience
  • Solid understanding of document hierarchy and governance (ISO 9001-style thinking), including the distinction between policy, business rules, and SOPs
  • Strong communication and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing stakeholder views and firm deadlines
  • Comfortable using Copilot or similar tools to speed up documentation work
  • Ability to take an ambiguous problem and own it end to end
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 4 days in the office, with occasional travel across Sydney and interstate.
