D&G is seeking a Technical Writer to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Stakeholder Engagement Division (SED). CISA leads national efforts to enhance security and resilience of the Nation’s critical infrastructure. Within CISA, the SED Sector Risk Management (SM) Sub-Division executes Sector Risk Management Agency (SRMA) responsibilities for CISA-led sectors and supports CISA’s role as a National Coordinator for critical infrastructure and resilience. This position would develop, edit, and finalize clear, accurate, accessible, and executive-ready technical and programmatic products for classified and unclassified CISA mission activities.

What You Will Do

• Develops, edits, and maintains clear, accurate, and well-organized technical documentation by translating complex programs, operational, and technical information into materials appropriate for government and stakeholder audiences. The role collaborates with subject matter experts and program personnel to produce quality-control reports, procedures, briefings, guides, and other documentation while ensuring consistency with established formatting, accessibility, branding, and document-control standards.
• Write and edit reports, studies, meeting notes, summaries, memos, white papers, issue analyses, briefings, training artifacts, templates, public messaging, and executive communications.
• Convert complex technical, policy, operational, and research content into concise products suited to senior leaders and varied stakeholder audiences.
• Apply DHS/CISA templates, style guides, formatting standards, version control, and document-clearance workflows.
• Perform substantive and copy editing for clarity, accuracy, consistency, readability, tone, and completeness.
• Use Word, Acrobat, Drupal, and related editing/publishing tools to produce Section 508-compliant deliverables.
• Capture accurate meeting discussions and technical findings, including notes for the record in classified settings when assigned.
• Maintain documentation and production logs and meet accelerated or Government-defined deadlines.

What We Are Looking For

Required

• BS/MA Dgree
• 6+ years’ experience
• Must be willing to commute to Arlington, VA

Preferred

• Strong technical writing, editing, proofreading, and document-development skills.
• Experience applying document templates, style guides, formatting standards, branding requirements, and version control.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical SME’s, program managers, analysts, and government stakeholders to gather and validate information.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple documentation assignments and deadlines.
• Experience developing graphics, diagrams, tables, process flows, and other visual elements that enhance technical documentation and communicate complex information.

Clearance and Eligibility

TS/SCI Clearance required. 2nd Tech writer position requires a DHS Suitability
• Must be a U.S. person(s) (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Location

• Hybrid with onsite in Arlington, VA.
