What You'll Do
As a Technical Writer, you'll create the work instructions, training materials, quality documentation, and process standards that help employees perform their work safely, consistently, and efficiently. You’ll work closely with engineers, quality professionals, manufacturing teams, and subject matter experts to translate complex processes into accurate, user-friendly documentation while maintaining document control, revision control, and quality standards.


In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and training materials
  • Create instructional content that supports employee onboarding, skills development, and knowledge retention
  • Develop user guides, presentations, job aids, videos, and other learning resources for manufacturing employees
  • Translate complex manufacturing processes into clear, user-friendly documentation
  • Observe manufacturing processes to understand workflows and identify opportunities for improved documentation and standardized work
  • Interview subject matter experts to capture best practices and technical knowledge
  • Maintain document control and ensure documentation remains current, accurate, and accessible
  • Support quality management systems by developing and updating controlled documentation
  • Assist with documentation supporting ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Training teams to improve documentation and employee learning
  • Incorporate photographs, diagrams, flowcharts, and visual aids to improve comprehension and engagement
  • Review and revise documentation to support process improvements, quality initiatives, and operational excellence
  • Help standardize documentation practices across departments
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve training, quality documentation, and standardized work
