Technician

Summary

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, facilities, and equipment in a private club, handling electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of the Club's buildings, facilities, plant and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently to minimise operational disruptions.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair and installation works involving electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure all facilities are safe, operational and maintained to a high standard.
  • Diagnose faults and coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs and servicing.
  • Monitor contractors to ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with the Club's standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work reports and asset information.
  • Support the setup, dismantling and maintenance requirements for Club events and functions.
  • Comply with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations and always maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Participate in emergency response and perform after-hours maintenance when required.

Requirements

  • NITEC, Higher NITEC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in building, hotel, clubhouse or facilities maintenance is preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning (ACMV), mechanical systems and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and resolve maintenance issues independently with good practical problem-solving skills.
  • Responsible, reliable and service-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.
