Technical Support Representative - Entry Level Job Purpose: Provides technical support to users by researching and answering questions; troubleshooting problems; maintaining workstation and LAN performance. Independent Contractor position with the possibility of becoming an employee. Part time is an option.
Day to day responsibilities at the beginning would be assisting clients remotely and onsite, documenting servers/networks as well as fixes, carrying and deploying purchased equipment, getting under desks and in nooks for connecting cables and other installation, deploying software with our remote tools, mitigating malware and general user issues. This level is required of everyone for the forseeable future.
Technical Support Representative - Additional Entry Level Job Duties:
Provides answers to clients by identifying problems; researching answers; guiding client through corrective steps.
Improves client experience by writing and maintaining documentation.
Participates in development of client training programs by identifying learning issues;
recommending instructional language.
Accommodates client disabilities by recommending devices and techniques.
Avoids legal challenges by monitoring compliance with service agreements.
Improves system performance by identifying problems; recommending changes.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks and projects.
Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Exposure to telecommunications technology and infrastructure.
Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to remain composed and professional .
Ability to work with management and customers.
Ability to work independently and to use common sense and sound technical judgment to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Must possess the aptitude to learn new technologies.
High degree of computer literacy including Windows and TCP/IP.
Knowledge of personal computers, networks, and general router configuration.
Must have a reliable means of transportation, laptop, cell phone and own hand tools.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, work in crawl spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to provide a driver's license, proof of legal ability to work, pass an extensive criminal background check.
Must be willing to travel an average of 30 miles from home or office.
